On November 10th the United States Marine Corps will celebrate its 235th birthday. If you know a Marine, thank him or her.

We fuck with almost every nation on Earth who doesn't have Nukes... And some that do. Worst yet, we play going to war and don't actually go to war. War isn't sending 140,000 troops to invade a nation larger than Texas and firing your generals who say you need 500,000 troops on the invasion. War isn't taking total control over life and death out of the hands of the military and replacing it with rules... War has no rules, it has no heart for the first three to die in war is Truth, Justice and Morality. The truth of why you went to war, the justice which justified the war and the morality of ending the lives of everyone who sides with your enemies can never be explained for there are no good reasons for a nation totally safe from invasion and the destruction of its founding principles (from an outsider) to go to war.... Only bad. Basically everything else you quoted were rhetoric.

Not to throw a damper on celebration....but the Marines began their history by being trapped in a sea side fort and retreating in the middle of the night by boat and leaving their allies in Tripoli to be slaughtered by the enemy. They have won many great battles since then, but one would think an organization with such humble beginnings would be a little less ostentatious.
