"You would think I was advocating child porn based on the reaction."

If I were a school administrator and you made that suggestion I wouldn't act that way. I'd politely ask you where the school might find new liability insurance when its existing coverage is cancelled about 30 seconds after the underwriters discovered what we were up to. Then I'd thank you for your interest and wish you a good day.

As long as we have Liberals in control, we will never get anything to help the gun problems. They still think the gun free zone is a crime stopper, just shows you their mentality. The good people should never have to be under any kind of gun control because of the scum that kill with guns for no reason other than hate or greed. The children getting killed at home with dads gun, I believe if the parents were actually prosecuted for this, These accidents would drop way down.

We have been working on thwarting criminals a long time and they still manage. If someone at those schools had been armed. Ie several volunteer teachers who went through weapons training and could act as a rapid response team; some of those kids would be alive today. Instead we try the pie in the sky idea that we can prevent these crazies from getting guns if we just make the laws stricter.

Yes I have proposed that this be done. You would think I was advocating child porn based on the reaction.

Toomuch, Nobody said anything about gun accidents involving children. And, yes I live in a place where it's safe and that is by choice. But. I bet those in CO, CT, PA and on GA thought the same thing and now in MN where another Colombine was averted because someone some thing out of the ordinary and the Aniv. was on Easter Sunday and there were no kids in school. He had it all planed out, starting a massive fire across town to draw the first responder away then double back to the high school and start killing so he can take the cowards way out and get shot by a cop.

If you know anything about me you should now I don't own and never did and I never put my family in a position to have to be afraid. I'm not a person that wants to take away any ones guns, But I an someone who wants to be able to come up with safeguards so people can agree on and help stop the gun violence especially when it's innocent children. So, your arguing that those who have guns are not responsible to society to make it a better place.

And, when you say that the criminals will always get the guns, you don't know that if we had protections in place to twart the criminals.

You are lucky enough to live at a time and in a place where violence of any kind is rare. As for children who are victims of violence. Before there were guns there swords, clubs, rocks and teeth. There have been child victims of all those things.

Guns do make it easier but when you outlaw them it makes it even easier for the outlaws to have the advantage and confidence to act. Gun laws do not stop criminals from having guns.

As for gun accidents with children that is a terrible thing and shouldn't happen but it does, this is why I don't have guns myself. I'm not willing to risk my kids curiosity killing them. I still support the right of everyone to own weapons to defend themselves and their family.

Toomuch, it goes back just a bit further than 2007. The constitution expressly provides for using both the militia and the army for putting down insurrections, and unless I'm mistaken the Insurrection Act is over a century old. There's an excellent book, American Insurrection, about President Kennedy's use of both to quell an insurrection against the integration of the University of Mississippi in the early 1960's. Those people who actually fired on US Marshalls thought of themselves as "patriots" defending their way of life against an oppressive federal government, but I think history will regard them as a bunch of racist criminals.
