It's hilarious that many ppl don't have a problem with felons losing rights to carry, vote, joining the military, living in some neighborhoods.

Time served, means time served. Why scarlet letter ppl for life for one mistake?

Where in the Constitution does it say American citizens lose rights to survive after serving prison time?

Nobody is up in arms over the fact that 18 yr olds are treated like minors in relation to alcohol and cigs?

As long as they are not operating a vehicle or endangering others, an 18 yr should have the right to ingest alcohol, cigs, marijuana. It's their body, not the government.

The reality is that many police officers don't receive much more training than your average concealed carry license holder. Many police departments have their officers qualify once a year and don't provide advanced combat tactical training for their line officers. Many of those same officers don’t even fire their weapons outside of a qualification scenario. Do you remember when two NYPD officers shot or injured multiple bystanders when they were gunning for one guy?

The ugly reality was that those poor people who died in SC were in a sense waiting for the police to decide when to shoot at an armed assailant. In that scenario someone having a gun wouldn't have guarantied that he would have been stopped but at least they would have had a fighting chance instead of waiting to be gunned down one by one.

Evil exists in this world in horrifying abundance and banning guns from law abiding people won’t change that. Actual intelligent people realize this and prepare accordingly by planning for their own defense against those who would do them harm.

Gee Wally, the drug laws are not working in drug-free and school zones....

Maybe the Republicans will push to legalize drugs and end drug-free zones?

No.....

The actual intelligent people know that you guys thinking a John Wayne is going to kill "the bad guys" in a dark movie theater are NOT thinking rationally.

Let the police decide when its safe to shoot at an armed subject, rather than someone trying to out nutjob the first armed suspect in a crowded area.

Fire extinguishers are designed to put out fires.

Handguns are designed to shoot and injure or kill living things.

No, this mass shooter likely would have picked a softer target had the church been armed... But unless you intend to turn the whole country into the DMZ between north and South Korea, then you must accept that the vast majority of the country will be a soft target.

Further, you as men must endeavor to utilize the fruits of civilization to uncover the causes of mass shooters (most are disenfranchised to such an extent they stop being civilized people). You cannot brutalize people to the extent by which you break them into your ideal mold. What you can do is break them into a social mold through education and if need be, detention and denial of civil rights.

In cases where the individual has already acted, such as the case we speak about. We have little recourse but to detain him for life, especially because there is likely no correcting his unacceptable train of thought. His incarceration will neither deter others from repeating his actions, nor will it change him into a better person. The death penalty will be a mercy handed down to him, as he is marked for death by every prison minority groups.
