You can now see who owns what and where?
You can also see anything else about a person from public record or an Internet search. So you gun owners see a problem with it, I sure don't! I welcome someone to look at my address and decide if they think I'm an easy target! I think it gives the bad guy the chance to live another day. |

I think you only need a permit for alarm here, if you want the police to respond to your alarm.. No actual permit required to own one! |

Many homes with alarm signs have no alarms, and many homes with alarms have no signs. I just wonder how many burglars ignore the signs. Besides the fact that in most areas especially rural it will take police more time to respond than for the criminals to break in and get out. And they know it, what the criminal likes is intel provided beforehand. If they want guns they want to know which houses have guns, many burglaries take place during the day while people are at work.

"Don't alarm signs also point out homes with no alarm?"
Only if you need a permit to put in an alarm system :=) |

Don't alarm signs also point out homes with no alarm? I'm not arguing your position. |

I still don't get why there is a problem with the people for this disseminating their own personal information. Somehow it is OK to make a bold statement and point fingers at others. But when the table is turned they make accusations, and even more finger pointing.

I'm against it.
It makes my neighbors who don't own guns easy targets.......just like making schools 'Gun Free Zones' makes them easy targets. It's not all about me. |

The 'library provision' of the Patriot Act................
""Every member of Congress and every American understands we have to do everything we can to protect the American people from terrorism. That is not the debate," said Rep. Bernard Sanders (I-Vt.), the amendment's lead proponent. "The debate is whether we can and must do that and protect the constitutional rights that make us a free people. That is what Congress voted for today." |

What's the downside of deterrence? Maybe I'm overlooking something here, but would it be a totally bad idea to provide the same bit of info you would by placing a sign in your yard stating you have an alarm on your home? |
