Rudy, with out this statement would not get the backing of the Unions. Socialism rules Unions "All of them" and this is a logical assumption that support of this and all unions would go democrat..How ever they have yet to back a candidate yet, my guess is they will back Sen. Hillary Clinton Dem, New York...

Jack

The IAFF claim to be bipartisan and to have represented both democrats and republicans in the past (in fact the link claims they endorsed Bush in 2004), held a bipartisan forum in March 2007 in which Rudy declined to attend where other republicans and democrats did, and claim to not be endorsing any particular candidate as of yet. However, they do claim that Rudy was not the leader that Rudy claims to have been during the national crisis of 9/11 and not deserving to be President of this country. Doesn't sound to me that they are poo pooing any other republican candidate. So based on this it does not seem to me that they are eyeball deep in support of democrats just to get Rudy. For my money Rudy is too damn much like GWB, trying to ride that 9/11 horse to the white house and my reading the lines and between the lines tells me I don't want Rudy as I don't believe he is the man for the job.

"So? Is your link more credible than the rest of the liberal media you love so much as long as it bashes Bush?"

Well the link is straight from the horses mouth so to speak. But you pose your question in a double edged fashion so that regardless of how I reply you have a negative to come back with. If I say yes then you discredit "the liberal media I love so much", if I say no you discredit the press release from IAFF. Actually you should think back on on the totality of my posts, I don't really bash Bush that much as a person, as say for example you bash Clinton or his wife. However, I will say that I don't like Bush, don't consider him a good president nor do I consider his administration particularly good and I certainly don't apologize for my opinion of him, his administration or the quality of his performance in office as I see it.

But it was obvious that I had doubts that you had read the press release, seeing as how I asked in the first place. At least you were honest in your answer that you did not bother to look at the press release. If you had, you would have seen where they did not blast Rudy for firing anyone or clearing out the union. The press release was specifically about his leadership before, during and after 9/11 and only pertaining to that.

I'm curious Jack, did you actually go read the press web page? Cause it didn't sound like sore toes to me; sounded more like a critque of what he accomplished as mayor.

Looks like the NY Fire Department doesn't much like Rudy

The former New York mayor upset some firefighters and police officers when he said Thursday in Cincinnati that he was at ground zero "as often, if not more, than most of the workers."

"I was there working with them. I was exposed to exactly the same things they were exposed to. So in that sense, I'm one of them," he told reporters at a Los Angeles Dodgers-Cincinnati Reds baseball game.

Later, he amended his statements, sort of, "I think I could have said it better," he told nationally syndicated radio host Mike Gallagher. "You know, what I was saying was, 'I'm there with you."'
