Sometimes my trying to be tactful, gets the message clouded. My problem with the ACLU is not only that they pick and choose which amendment they believe should be fought for, but that they "read into" the constitution things that even other lawyers cannot comprehend how they arrived at that interpretation.

I am not aware of anyone who says that the ACLU does not, at times, support those things that truly are in the constitution, or cases that should be handled more compassionately based on case precedent. I am also not aware of anyone who says the ACLU should not handle cases, such as those of free speech, involving hateful groups like the KKK, Black Panthers, etc. I think what many people are concerned with is the perception of anti-American positions with no (apparent) constitutional authority that it seems the ACLU has taken positions on.

As far as my own self importance, I was just a small cog in a big machine that started long before I was born and has continued on long after my retirement. I consider myself more lucky, then talented, to have been involved in the things I was. I have lived a great and I hope, a productive life. Unlike what is reflected in your posts and selfish interests, I gave something back to my country. Those who believe I have some sort of talent, continue to let me serve from a private contractor position. I am not trying to be "all that", nor do I mean to be "tooting my own horn". If it came across that way, I apologize, as it was not my intention. My small, very tiny, contributions will only be remembered within the next generations of my immediate family. However, at least I am not some self righteous, elitist, what's in it for me, better then you, smarter then you, make shit up that supports my biases, prick, as your post reflect you are.

User Details are only visible to members.	I have been nothing more then a military law enforcement officer and a criminal investigator my entire adult life. Unlike JNM, I do not claim to be anything else i.e., CFO, Chemist, Biologist, Geologist, Historian, Psychologist, Psychiatrist etc. You would think as a retired Special Agent with the access and contacts that not only myself, but other cops have, I could verify JNM's list. As I stated before I could only verify 13 names. 6 were in fact Republicans, but 5 were Democrats, with 2 people having no verifiable political affiliation. The other names on the list I simply could not find outside of blogs that trade their names and crimes. Using the information provided, I could find either no one in the area stated with that name, or there are no charges against people with those names, or no record of arrest or no record of prosecution. I gave JNM the reference to Ted Bundy. I would hope that a retired FBI Profiler who was highly decorated and is considered one of the pioneers of profiling would be considered better source then JNM's blogs. I give up, JNM is convinced that blogs that refer to each other as corroboration, without listing an outside source such as a news article, arrest report or trial number makes his list true. Maybe it is, but his shallowness and failure to provide those supporting news stories, arrest reports and/or trial transcripts where these people, are not only verified as republicans, but that they actually exist, to me, is troubling. As in all post and forums, I will let the readers and other posters decide who is being "fair and balanced", or at least attempting to.

Yet, you use blogs that cannot be authenticated and the few that can be, many of those people have not been convicted. ...and that is regardless of whether I found them to be Democrat or Republican. JNM, as you often are, you are misinformed about Ted Bundy, stay off the blogs and Wikepedia (the article in Wikedpedia even has the disclaimer that the information is NOT verified). BUNDY WAS A REGISTERED DEMOCRAT! FBI Profiler John Douglas has written extensively on Serial Killers, to include Bundy. Bundy, while attending college, worked in the Washington State Republican Chapter for less the 3 months as a favor to his then girlfriend. He DID NOT campaign for any specific candidate, nor was he active in any political cause. Other volunteers stated he rarely showed up when scheduled, only when his girlfriend was there. The girlfriend dumped him and in an interview with Douglas and the FBI stated it was due to Bundy having no ambition and being immature. In other words he worked there a short time CHASING A GIRL, not for his political views. At the age of 18, when he became eligible to vote, Douglas found that Bundy had registered as a Democrat. Only the BBC, in an outdated article, claims Bundy was a "rising star" in the republican party. Yet, the BBC cannot site any specifics to why they would print that comment. Douglas who built profiles on serial killers disproved that. By the way in Douglas's book, "The Cases that Haunt Us", Douglas found that Bundy never even voted. That he only registered as a Democrat voter. That reflects on his profile of being an under achiever and having no ambition. DUH! Also many of the articles you refer to DO NOT reflect the person’s political party affiliation. Example: You type - "Larry Dale Floyd....Republican County Constable........Dallas Morning News." The Dallas Morning News article is at http: // www DOT dallasnews DOT com / sharedcontent / dws / news / city / denton / stories / DN-constable_04met.ART.North.Edition2.28d2.html The article does NOT identify Floyd's political affiliation. A call to the Dallas Morning News, news desk, reflects the paper DOES NOT know his political party. I was even asked why that was important. A call to an old friend, whom I served in the Air Force with long ago, and is now a Homicide Captain in Dallas, reflects that Floyd is believed to be a Democrat. However, to be fair he could not say for sure. Another example is: “30) Republican president of the New York City Housing Development Corp. Russell Harding pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on his computer.” Again the legitimate news article's DO NOT reflect Harding’s Political Party affiliation. The bloggers made the ASSUMPTION that Harding is a Republican because he was appointed by Rudy Guiliani, even though Guiliani appointed many people crossing political lines, it’s called bi-partisanship - you dipstick! However, Harding is a life long Democrat that is now accusing the Bloomberg administration and the Republican party of “setting him up” and “dirty tricks”. I would suggest that the pattern is that Republicans who commit these offenses ARE identified in the media reports as being Republican. The news reports where the individual’s political affiliation is NOT clear or identified, seems with a little INDEPTH research, the person turns out to be a Democrat. JNM, you talk about theories, my theory is MEDIA and LIBERAL bias, as well as bloggers who either make shit up or purposely misstate things. Get off your high horse and blogs, come down to reality and accept that child molesters come in all shapes, sizes, orientation and Political persuasions.
