I can't see what outdoors is posting, but I have already stated that we likely didn't cause global warming... But we must survive it.

To do so will requires a change in how resources are distributed and this means capitalism either MUST provide or it must be cast aside as it will not stop the 4 billion who will be displaced and starving who will turn on their own governments, form new oppressive governments which will seek out new sources of food and water at the point of a gun.

You capitalist aren't adapting to the simple needs of today, you show no ability to adapt to the dramatic needs of tomorrow.

Well, we have mass extinctions every few million years, so another one will not be man caused. Or something.

Outdoors, your logic is flawed- that's not what I said. But, if that's how you choose to think, then so be it.

"It is outrageous for an administration to use a respected public health organization as mouthpiece to attack their political opponents under the guise of "cancer research".

And now you know why Congress banned the CDC from doing gun research.

Great logic. People die all the time. Therefore, it should be fine to kill people.

So, now the topic has come to global warming?

Fun Fact: there have been multiple ice ages. All have one thing in common- global warming brought an end to the ice ages, and another ice age began.

Since global warming has been a fact of the history of Earth since it's formation, and since man, and more specifically man's technology has not been around for many of those, it's a bit presumptuous to state that man is the cause of global working. Perhaps in our recent history man has been a contributing factor, but it's impossible to state that man is the cause. without a control for comparison, no one can prove that man is the cause of global warming.

It's happened before, and it will happen again. I find it interesting that many of those who denounce the existence of God, or gods, refuse to acknowledge the scientific data regarding the cyclical warming and freezing of the Earth.

Just sayin'...

Are you introducing a 3rd party to the fray? The Cancer Institute is under attack (defunding threat), and they are defending their work. They are under attack from the tobacco lobby and the environmental degraders. They are pointing out that the enemy is at their doorstep, as well as inflicting misery on users of their products.

Why do you assume the Administration is orchestrating this?

If the American Red Cross has a ship hijacked by pirates, should they not send out a distress call? If they're on a mission to help the refugees of Somalia, and Somalian pirates have stopped it, is the Red Cross message just an Administration attack on free enterprise?

I pulled that quote from the NCI article. If this Frezza guy did too I don't care. It's silly to try to discredit my use of a quote directly from the article you are holding up.

"Is it really unusual that the American Cancer Institute should put together facts to explain why Tea Party Republicans are trying to defund them and the entire National Institutes of Health? "

YES!

It is outrageous for an administration to use a respected public health organization as mouthpiece to attack their political opponents under the guise of "cancer research". If Obama, Pelosi, Debbie W-S or a politician wants to stand there and extoll the evils of Republicans, that's perfectly fine with me. They are politicians doing political things. The NIH is NOT a political organization and to co-opt them to behave like one (or even allow or condone it) is most uncool.

I would be just as pissed if PBS made anti-Democrat political garbage for Sesame Street during the Bush years. Politicians can publish all the propaganda they want. The government itself is not supposed to, especially in slimy stealthy ways such as this. This is beyond unacceptable. Similar to when CMS was running commercials on TV about how awesome Obamacare was. WTF - outrageous.
