TOPIC: Elections have consequences

Original Starting post for this thread:
Big money can no longer win elections for the republican party. A party which as exiled almost half of the women vote, most every Latino and minority vote and are losing one major and even medium level city after another.

You need to check your mentality and turn it in for a new one... It is disconnected from reality and your wanted greed for demanding more work from the workers who produce 2-3 times more productivity than their fathers ever could think of doing, at a wage which is 1/5th that of what their fathers made per work produced.

You are losing everyone who isn't wealthy and even the wealthy know that you cannot keep going like this.

Just:

"Robert you are talking shit again,,Nothing to back global waeming,,The earth goes through things and heals itself,,"

First you need to learn what we are debating. We aren't debating who caused this, but rather to get you people to accept it is happening and that we must adapt our society around it so to survive as a species.

Yes, the Earth has been much warmer than it is today and it has been much colder than it is today... But our eco systems cannot survive such extremes of change and thus food and water will become more scarce... This causes war, war with nuclear weapons = End of humanity.

"Ya ever think the big man up stairs is sending warnings? "

If the big guy up stairs wants to send us warnings, he can get off his lazy ass and come on down here and prove his existence. Otherwise he has no say in our lives and how we do things.

"As for re- thinking my earlier statement,,Nope accept the only other reason is us stupid Americans letting this shit get to where it is today.. "

What shit? Shit is slang for fecal matter which all living things produce. Please use full descriptive sentences.

FoS?

For starters their funds are indirect from the oil industry through donors who are kept secret by the Calgary Foundation.

Second they are or take part in partisan politics by funding candidates which are against any global warming debates and misused research money to do this.

Yep, you quote reputable scientist alright. But at the least you are stating your sources for all to know.

Page 2 paragraph 1

"The year 2009 is nominally ranked as the fifth warmest year on record since the beginning of instrumental climate records around 1850. On the decadal scale, the analysis shows that the 2000s decade (2000–2009) was warmer than the 1990s (1990–1999), which in turn were warmer than the 1980s (1980–1989) and earlier decades."

Show evidence, site sources and reference material please. But here is mine.

MYTH 1: Global temperatures are rising at a rapid, unprecedented rate. FACT: The HadCRUT3 surface temperature index, produced by the Hadley Centre of the UK Met Office and the Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia, shows warming to 1878, cooling to 1911, warming to 1941, cooling to 1964, warming to 1998 and cooling through 2011. The warming rate from 1964 to 1998 was the same as the previous warming from 1911 to 1941. Satellites, weather balloons and ground stations all show cooling since 2001. The mild warming of 0.6 to 0.8 C over the 20th century is well within the natural variations recorded in the last millennium. The ground station network suffers from an uneven distribution across the globe; the stations are preferentially located in growing urban and industrial areas ("heat islands"), which show substantially higher readings than adjacent rural areas ("land use effects"). Two science teams have shown that correcting the surface temperature record for the effects of urban development would reduce the reported warming trend over land from 1980 by half. MYTH 2: The "hockey stick" graph proves that the earth has experienced a steady, very gradual temperature decrease for 1000 years, then recently began a sudden increase. FACT: Significant changes in climate have continually occurred throughout geologic time. For instance, the Medieval Warm Period, from around 1000 to1200 AD (when the Vikings farmed on Greenland) was followed by a period known as the Little Ice Age. Since the end of the 17th Century the "average global temperature" has been rising at the low steady rate mentioned above; although from 1940 – 1970 temperatures actually dropped, leading to a Global Cooling scare. The "hockey stick", a poster boy of both the UN's IPCC and Canada's Environment Department, ignores historical recorded climatic swings, and has now also been proven to be flawed and statistically unreliable as well. It is a computer construct and a faulty one at that.
