VA, the only way to stop the gangs is by eradicating the gangs... one of the main reasons gangs flourish is a poor family core, most young men ( and women) join gangs in search of structure that is lacking in the home. Of all the training I had regarding gangs and those driven to them, more than not the gang memebers came from broken homes, or homes where the family unit is not a strong source of support and structure. If those living in areas prone to gang activities, were to start in the homes the gangs would dwindle and die off through attrition. Sadly until that happens the gangs will survive, and flourish, those who become members are more than willing to die or kill for thier adoptive "family".

People would be able to walk down the street with out fear of being robbed or killed. Gangs do a lot more damage than just murders.Look at the FBI & DOJ stats. Once gangs are pushed out of the neighborhood violent crime make a drastic drop.

User Details are only visible to members.	Pp you are one twisted person. If gangs have no guns they will use other weapons to kill people or attack in a larger group to insure they take what they want. You have to fix the cause of the problem not the symptom. Why is that so hard to understand?

First the Dutch, then the English, then the Irish followed by Italians, Greeks, Jews, Puerto Ricans, Blacks, Central Americans, Cape Of Verdians, Salvadorians, Bosnians, Albanians and who knows who next? It may well be an American right of passage for ethnic groups Guns in the hands of gangs, not gangs themselves, are the problem

User Details are only visible to members.	Makes a big difference. If there is a high number of gang related shooting then you work on getting rid of the gangs. The way you treat a problem is by first finding out the cause of a problem. You don't treat the symptoms.You fix the cause. I am sure when you go to the doctor lets say for pain in your back. Do you want him to just give you pain mads that does not fix the problem just covers it up. Or do you want him to find the cause of the pain and fix that. So you see it does make a difference.
