The people who write these letters are no fools. If their writing is ambiguous, it’s because they want it to be. How else can they convince ordinary Americans that your sweet, elderly neighbors, the ones who waved American flags at a cheerful, polite Tea Party, are just as criminally inclined as the neo-Nazis who have swastikas tattooed on their foreheads, talk about racial purification, and engage in drug-running to finance their genocidal goals? The second reason ordinary Americans view the Obama administration with suspicion – and the reason that Rand Paul’s filibuster resonated so strong with them – is all that talk of drones. The starting point to Rand Paul’s filibuster was a letter he wrote to Eric Holder asking the Attorney General whether the Obama Justice Department believes that the President can launch drone attacks against American citizens on American soil. Eric Holder said, yes, the President does have the right to do so under certain circumstances: As members of this administration have previously indicated, the US government has not carried out drone strikes in the United States and has no intention of doing so. As a policy matter moreover, we reject the use of military force where well-established law enforcement authorities in this country provide the best means for incapacitating a terrorist threat. We have a long history of using the criminal justice system to incapacitate individuals located in our country who pose a threat to the United States and its interests abroad. Hundreds of individuals have been arrested and convicted of terrorism-related offenses in our federal courts. The question you have posed is therefore entirely hypothetical, unlikely to occur, and one we hope no president will ever have to confront. It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States. For example, the president could conceivably have no choice but to authorize the military to use such force if necessary to protect the homeland in the circumstances like a catastrophic attack like the ones suffered on December 7, 1941, and September 11, 2001.

MARCH 11, 2013 One of the reasons that Rand Paul’s anti-drone filibuster got so much applause is because so many Americans no longer trust their government. Their lack of trust goes beyond the usual (and very real) concern that the federal government is spending America into a black hole of debt that will destroy the nation’s wealth. Instead, American citizens aren’t just worried that the government is targeting their money. They’re worried that the government is targeting them. Most obviously, the Obama administration, working closely with state and federal legislators, is making every effort to undermine the Second Amendment. That Amendment states, in no uncertain terms that A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The language is straightforward: “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” The Supreme Court has held that this language means what it says. The government can maintain a standing army, but the people of America, just by being free American citizens constitute a militia. What the Founders understood, having just fought a revolutionary war against an imperial power, is that this citizen militia exists to defend against enemies both foreign and domestic. A lot of Americans are getting the feeling that the Obama administration fully understands that bit about defending against domestic enemies and is planning to avert that possibility from every occurring. Aside from the federal government’s planned gun grab, two other stories have been in the headlines that concern those citizens that are paying attention. First, the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group closely associated with the Obama administration, has just sent a letter to Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano (who heads the DHS) identifying alleged potential terrorist threats within the United States. At the top of the SPLC’s list? Patriot groups: In the last four years, we have seen a tremendous increase in the number of conspiracy-minded, antigovernment groups as well as in the number of domestic terrorist plots. As in the period before the Oklahoma City bombing, we now also are seeing ominous threats from those who believe that the government is poised to take their guns. Because of the looming dangers, we urge you to establish an interagency task force to assess the adequacy of the resources devoted to responding to the growing threat of non-Islamic domestic terrorism.

Now sense you have proven yourself to be of low intelligence by repeating one lie about the president after another and your care or concern for real americans suffering at the hands of greedy men who could if they chose to ease that suffering without suffering themselves... I don't take what you have got to say with more than a grain of salt.

User Details are only visible to members.	About 20 so years ago when Clinton was President US spy satellites were used to spy on Americans. I remember reading about the event in the San Luis Obispo Tribune. The Cold War was over and a few satellites formally used to spy on the USSR were declared "surplus" and were re directed to follow hunting activities on some poachers in the Northern portion of San Luis Obispo and Southern Monterey Counties. NSA was following a couple of hunters and passing the information to game wardens. I remember reading the articles because it was clear to me they were being used to drum up anti gun support. As in look what happens when you have people who have guns. They go out and hunt illegally. They were killing Bambe. All of a sudden the program was halted and the articles ended too. India exploded a nuke and thus joined the nuke club. Their nuke operation had gone on completely un noticed. Even though a huge complex out in the middle of no where India had been built and was easily seen from space. The MSM was asking the Clinton Administration questions about how India was building a bomb and no one knew.

Fat Albert was used for more than just watching Cuba before it became obsolete. Drones are just not needed in most circumstances when there are better resources. Drones for surveillance of private/home cannot be done without a warrant. And then the drones used are not high altitude, if you would bother to do your research instead of pulling crap out of your ass you would know that. But then that is where being lazy gets you in trouble. It was YOU who said spy satellite not anyone else. Learn to fucking comprehend, and get out of the basement. Might help to research before shoving your foot so far down your throat with complete ignorance.
