{Reprint of a journal by an Arizona citizen}

This military wife has been writing about the role of complicit commanders in cases involving sexual assault and sexual harassment of our military members. A story recently broke in Arizona about the horrific actions of an Army National Guard recruiter and the story focuses on his so-called "bum hunts." Yes, this man took out new recruits and young enlisted in the Army National Guard Humvee and "hunted" the homeless with paint guns. But the story isn't a simple one of a single recruiter and his power over young and easily-influenced recruits. It is a story of sexual harassment, of lack of respect for military members, both active duty and veteran, and of the men given the responsibility to command this unit and their failure to do so. It goes far beyond one bad apple and it makes me question the entire chain of command in the Arizona Army National Guard.

Does a Canadian expatriate with American business interests pledge allegiance to a flag made with paintball explosions made on the pants of unsuspecting civilians?

Make the assaults fair. Give American homeless veterans, probably homeless as a result of the Bush/Cheney/Powell/Rice Crime Cabinet Enterprises, an equal opportunity. Equip them with anti-Arizona assault weapons and daytime camouflage. That would be fair.

Shooting at impoverished American citizens with paintball weapons and ammunition is affirmation of which pledge to which flag and nation?

[Idiots out walking around having fun together could take months to answer this question.]

One of the concerns the military had when they made non combat units "Coed" was that an NCO or Officer in a position of some authority would use that position to sexually harass or assault female soldiers. This concern was not without precedence. Homosexuality was fairly well widespread in the pre WWI Army. When the Government enacted conscription for the War in Europe, parents from all over the country protested to their elected representatives about their boys having to serve under homosexuals. Under pressure from Congress the Army put in place regulations to eliminate homosexuality in the military. Those regulations were not enforced until the start of WWII. Those regulation did a lot toward preventing homosexual harassment of jr soldiers but didn't do much to remove homosexuals from the military. The unit Commander is responsible for the conduct of his soldiers. If Harassment or assault is taking place in a unit and the Commander is aware of even the allegation of misconduct and takes no action, he/she is subject to being relieved of duties. An individual who practices harassment, or assault, be it with a paint ball gun or his pecker can and should be Courtmatrialed.

VB, I think the point being suggested was that when unrestrained, bullying allows a person to become a world-class miscreant. In real life, 99.99% of severe bullies are very restrained by their environment. They end up in the principal's office, or in jail, on the wrong end of a gun ...

A society which not only condones but promotes the bully in their midst -- see Mitt Romney as the current exemplar -- is inviting upon itself a historic beat-down.

I, too, thought the image (and the ambiguity) of bum-hunting could be funny. Maybe in a low-level "comedy" film, in which the perpetrators learn a valuable lesson or two.

"You are both fucking nuts.

Saying "Bum hunting is fun" makes me Stalin, a Nazi, a sociopathic piece of shit, etc.

Whatever. Seriously? Whatever."

No you are pathetic. You can't accept the fact that what you had said was unacceptable. Grow up and be a man. Learn that you have a social responsiblity to protect and promote the protection of your fellow man.... Or at the least remain a silent child.

" If he becomes POTUS and the country "tanks" the GOP will be dead in the water for generations to come, if not forever."

Wait a minute. The economy "tanked" just 4 years ago, and in 2 years the country had forgotten about it, or blamed it on Obama being born in Hawaii, or something.

This is essentially the same USA that reelected Reagan after 4 years of Knowing what a clown he was. And of course they reelected Bush II, knowing what an idiot he was.

Mark:

"Robert: You raped women who were your unit? Or did you see your fellow aiman rape women in your unitl? Which is it?"

Thank you for returning to the OP... even if your mind is trying to pervert what I said.

No on both accounts. The rapes I am talking about are well documented cases within the US military. If you were so inclined to do a little research, you would find this on your own. You have now been lead to water, go and drink your fill or don't... It is your choice.
