As I said - if gays are primarily liberals, that's because conservatives by and large support denial of rights to gays that most gays favor.
I love the line I heard Barney Frank use yesterday when someone mentioned the idea of a "radical gay agenda" ... something like: "Gays want the right to serve in the military, the right to get married, and laws to bar discrimination against gays in the workforce. There's a radical agenda - military, marriage, and jobs." |

"Gays tend to be liberals".
Tell that to Mary Cheney and the Log Cabin crew. Actually, gays do tend to support those who believe in giving equal rights to gays, unsurprisingly. But the Bush Administration is loaded with gays at the staff level, and it's pretty much accepted that the last RNC head, Ken Mehlmann, is gay. Plus, I never saw a gay male prostitute making hundreds of visits to the Clinton White House, although had Jeff Gannon had a White House Pass during the 90's I'm sure we'd be hearing about it in every other topic on this list. |

Well, I'll "give a pass" to Barney Frank, if only because I don't think either gay sex OR prostitution should be looked down on by society, much less illegal. And unless a politician is actively campaigning on a platform of "traditional family values" or something, I don't really care about his or her sex life as long as it doesn't involve children, animals, or dead bodies (toys and fruit are fine...).

I'm having a very hard time imagining any major newspaper running the cartoon as you describe - can you provide an URL? I've gotta think the cartoonist was wondering when OBL will be strung up, and not when the US will extradite Bush to the Hague.
