The government performs all the functions of a slave owner for those who are not willing to do for themselves. If employers did the above and provided a wage which allowed the employee to attend college so to advance within the company... and or enter another field if there is no advancement within the company... The likelihood that that employee will need government services in their elderly years is reduced greatly... Or the fault lies totally with them. In which case a government funded elderly home for the indigent would be constructed. (a place that the elderly who can no longer work, but can't afford to live on what they have saved or as retirement go to live out the last few months/years until death.) If the employers provided... Then there wouldn't be a need for welfare programs which we have today... One or two programs at the most to tie you over until you find a new job... Remember that unemployment under my view ought to be that you show up in town hall for a work detail, which you are excusable from only if you are attending schooling or attending interviews which you can verify. (no shows/no excusable reason as stated before... no unemployment pay) Lastly for the unemployment in cities where there are jobs which the governments can't fund... Such as Philadelphia's ship scrap yards... The unemployed would be trained in metal cutting and other applicable skill jobs which they can then use the skills to gain employment. If you search the politics forums... you will find that I have said these ideals many times over... the righties keep tearing into them because they are socialist based and not totally dog eat dog.
