Original Starting post for this thread:
I just saw that Hillary wants to be known as a "Modern American Progressive" whatever that is. I found this to be quite funny. We conservatives know who we are and are proud of who we are. However the democtracs are still trying to figure out who they are. If you do not who you are then how do you expect me to know who you are.

If you say so, but I don't know what neocommunism is. Perhaps you could elucidate on that for us? Is that a word you coined or did you read it in a book somewhere? Perhaps Dr. Seuess' "One Lib, Two Lib, Red Lib, Blue Lib"?

"The funny thing is I actually know better than to try and have a dialogue with a troll. Shame on me."

As with most things spewed from a neocon, history begs to differ.

Here's an example of a speech that a conservative might give:

"Good afternoon. Today, as of noon, almost half of the federal government employees are idle. The government is partially shutting down because Congress has failed to pass the straightforward legislation necessary to keep the government running ... It is particularly unfortunate that the ... Congress has brought us to this juncture because, after all, we share a central goal -- balancing the federal budget. We must lift the burden of debt that threatens the future of our children and grandchildren, and we must free-up money so that the private sector can invest, create jobs, and our economy can continue its healthy growth ... Since I took office, we have cut the federal deficit nearly in half. It is important that the people of the United States know that the United States now has proportionately the lowest government budget deficit of any large industrial nation. We have eliminated 200,000 positions from the federal bureaucracy since I took office. Our federal government is now the smallest percentage of the civilian work force it has been since 1933, before the New Deal. We have made enormous progress, and now we must finish the job."

Wow, that sounds more conservative than I've heard from any Republican president in my lifetime.

First you put words in my mouth. Now you selectively parse my prose. And you neocons wonder why the country can no longer stomach your dogmas. It's about as dishonest as you can get. It's all down there in black and white for anyone who cares to read.

The Democrats can balance a budget. Clinton shut the government down and sent all unnecessary government employees home until Newt and gang could come back with a balanced budget. Shutting the government down certainly doesn't adhere to communist principles as far as my textbooks read. And you've never seen a "conservative" Repub do something balsy like that. Not Nixon, Reagan, Bush Senior nor Bush Junior.

Not sure why I'd bother to school a notably dishonest neo-con on these things, though. Someone who doesn't even recognize that expanding government at logarithmic rates has nothing to do with conservative principles really isn't much worth arguing with.

"I think you meant that neither the Dems or Republicans adhere to many conservative principals."

No, I meant what I wrote. Don't put words in my mouth. You asked me how they're more conservative and I told you. You don't like the answer because you're a vehement partisan and can't think clearly because your sworn to tow the party line.

I have no love for the Democrats. I just tell it like it is.
