Copy cats are always a big problem with horrific crimes, we should ban all news reports on these crimes. If we don't need the second amendment then the first does not mean anything either. I notice the lefttards are not whimpering for the removal of violent video games, or for the networks to stop glorifying these loons.

Von I. Meyer allegedly threatened to set his wife on fire before saying he would 'kill as many people as he could' at a nearby elementary school.

CEDAR LAKE, Ind. — Authorities say an Indiana man who had 47 guns and ammunition in his home has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill people at an elementary school near his home.

Cedar Lake police were called to the home of 60-year-old Von I. Meyer early Friday after he allegedly threatened to set his wife on fire. A police statement says Meyer also said he would enter Jane Ball Elementary School and "kill as many people as he could."

Authorities found 47 guns and ammunition worth over $100,000.

Prosecutors filed felony intimidation charges against Meyer on Saturday, one day after the massacre at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. He is being held without bond.

Cedar Lake is about 45 miles southeast of Chicago

Unfortunately, there will never be an argument strong enough or logic sound enough to convince the far left wingers that these tragedies are not the fault of the weapon used. You will not make them understand that this animal would have found alternate means to accomplish his goal which may have resulted in even higher loss of life. These folks are fixated on the demonic firearm. So let's ban the possession and use of box knives used to take the lives of over 3000 people, or let's ban the use of school busses because a class of children died when the driver fell asleep crossing a bridge, better yet ban bridges. In short blame the source, the man, not the tool he chose.

Sardukar,

Israel is an armed society, their gun controls are tight, but armed society they are. Israel doesn't have such heinous crimes carried out by it's own members of society precisely because the population understands that the police is not there to protect the citizens, but to enforce law. Society is protecting itself, policing itself, proof is in the pudding.

Banning weapons will society with only the thugs with weapons. This is what you're supporting. Right to keep and bear arms is every American citizen's constitutional Right.

We do not know the details of what happened. We do not understand such actions. We can never comprehend what happened in the person's mind to make them carry out such a heinous crime. We cannot foresee it, most of the time. Banning guns is not the answer. Learning from these experiences, securing ourselves, creating plans that work which get implemented at times like this is what we need to focus on.

And I hope that you understand what I'm trying to say here when I tell you that: It is precisely because the school carried out their emergency plan, that only 26 people lost their lives. If they had no plan, I assure you, a lot more innocent people would have died.

Well, some of them can't possibly carry all their guns with them when they go out. So they have to stay home to protect their stockpile of weaponry.

"When advocates of the Second Amendment 'right to keep and bear arms' present their case, it often includes an overt 'super patriot' attitude that is meant to silence their critics."

Of course. You want to control guns you are anti-america. The only thing funnier is the tough righties who are afraid to leave their homes without one.

But then, if some of them weren't so busy being assholes they wouldn't have to worry about someone wanting to hurt them...

When advocates of the Second Amendment 'right to keep and bear arms' present their case, it often includes an overt 'super patriot' attitude that is meant to silence their critics.

The destruction of lives by the misappropriation and misuse of the Second Amendment guarantee should also include public humiliation, disgrace and execution for allowing or permitting a semi-automatic handgun to be used in the slaughter of innocent civilians. Unless the owner is already dead.

Sellers of firearms should create their own firearm safety regulatory government, or expect the American government to enact legislation and enforcement to prevent the misappropriation and misuse of semi-automatic handguns.

"These mass-murder weapons are relatively new."

Mass murder is not relatively new. Nor does it always require guns.

A car can be a mass-murder weapon and has been used as such. So can gasoline.

This kind of shit has been going on for a long time. It's the media that has made it into what it is. " ==========

The media didn't rip those children and teachers to shreds, dude. It's rapid-fire guns creating this steady and increasing sequence of massacres. Not cars, not gasoline.

Cars and gas have legitimate uses. Mass-murder weapons do not.
