"‘I thought they were trying to educate the public about the complexities of climate change,’ he said. ‘This seems like a deliberate attempt to exploit someone who is on the other side of the issue.’"...Couple of things come to mind wuth this statement...1)..it seems that as long as educating the public shows that man is the cause of global warming then he would have been fine with it. Shows someone that is narrow mined. 2) if this thing is settled according to Jimdodo then there would only be ONE side not opposing sides as he says "someone who is on the other side of the issue.".....Hmm Jimdodo care to respond.

"The theory of man-made global warming has become such a powerful political force that other explanations for climate change have been largely ignored, according to a documentary being screened tonight. Changes in the Earth's climate may be better explained by the sun's radiation rather than the carbon dioxide emissions from our cars, homes and factories, argues Martin Durkin, whose film is being shown on Channel 4. Swings in the planet's temperature took place long before the burning of fossil fuels, say experts in The Great Global Warming Swindle. So the "single-minded focus" on cutting carbon emissions may have little impact on climate change - but could stifle the development of poorer countries which cannot afford other ways of producing energy. A number of "leading" scientists who disagree with the prevailing consensus on the greenhouse effect were brought together for the film, said its producers. It features nine professors from institutions including the space agency Nasa, the International Arctic Research Centre, the Institut Pasteur and the universities of London, Ottawa, Jerusalem, Winnipeg, Alabama and Virginia. Speaking in the documentary, climatologist Tim Ball said: "The ice core record goes to the very heart of the problem we have. They said if CO2 increases in the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas, then the temperature will go up. "But the ice core record shows exactly the opposite, so the fundamental assumption, the most fundamental assumption of the whole theory of climate change due to humans, is shown to be wrong." Increased CO2 levels are actually a result of temperature rises, not their cause, and this alternate view is rarely heard, argue experts in the film. Professor and director of the Earth System Science Center John Christy said: "I've often heard it said that there is a consensus of thousands of scientists on the global warming issue that humans are causing a catastrophic change to the climate system. "Well I am one scientist, and there are many, that simply think that is not true." Earth to Jimdodo..irt is far from over!!!

David Cordero, 24, made the sculpture for his senior show after noticing all the attention Obama has received since he first hinted he may run for the presidency. "All of this is a response to what I've been witnessing and hearing, this idea that Barack is sort of a potential savior that might come and absolve the country of all its sins," Cordero said. "In a lot of ways it's about caution in assigning all these inflated expectations on one individual, and expecting them to change something that many hands have shaped." which btw, is awesome insight for a 24 yr old..

Here is what I find comical, as well as puzzling A few Christians get upset at something they believe is negative and insulting to their beliefs and the MEDIA jumps all over it making ALL Christians, as some of the posters suggest or claim, look intolerant. Comedy Central does a show called "The Freak Show" with an episode dedicated to mocking Jewish traditions and their faith. Various organizations raise hell calling it Anti-Semitism and the show is QUIETLY yanked with little or no outrage from the MEDIA. No one seems to be telling those of Jewish faith or heritage to lighten up or calling them intolerant of Humor, which is a form of "Artistic Expression". Muslims burn cars, break and damage windows and property of stores and markets in Europe over an "artistic" cartoon and the majority of the MEDIA calls the cartoonist intolerant, insensitive and bigoted towards the religion of Islam. Much of the MEDIA says nothing of the violence with some even justifying or defending it. Why are these Christians intolerant when they PEACEFULLY complain about something that offends their religion, but it is the artists who are intolerant when they express themselves concerning a non-Christian religion? Since I am considered an atheist, or as my sister says, an agnostic, I don't get what appears to me as intolerance, blind hatred and a different set of standards toward Christians. Personally, I find no religion, in of itself, to be more violent or intolerant or even tolerant over another. Each religion has HUMANS that pervert or misrepresent the religion. Having said that and having lived my adult life all over the world, I have found that Christians are some of the most tolerant people I have ever met. This new "fad" or "bandwagon" bashing of Christianity and those that believe in it, is what is intolerant. Before calling Christians, Jews, Buddhist etc., or even Muslims intolerant or bigoted, look in the mirror. The person most intolerant may be the one looking back. Historically, wars and violence have been carried out over all kinds of differences. We can argue that hundreds of years ago Christians were the provocateurs of different wars. However, Christianity grew and Christians and their leaders realized that their religion is one of peace and it should not be imposed or forced onto others. Today, most Muslims feel the same way about Islam. However, today in modern times, it is those who perversion the Islamic faith that are carrying out bigotry, intolerance and forcing social, as well as political change, through violence. Overall and it is my experience that Islam is a peaceful and tolerant religion. However, there are GREAT NUMBERS of those who fanitically believe otherwise, and have started a World War over their ideology and view of Islam. I do not see modern day Christians, nor any other religion currently being used to seek Global change through the mass and large scale violence that the fanatics that prevert Islam carry out. Yet many of the posters on these forums wish to demonize Christianity while dismissing the fanatics, who through violence across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States (remember 911), use Islam as their justification.
