I'm not claiming nobody's ever done it. I'm saying it is NOT any kind of standard practice. Not even close.

Va:

I would have to say that it might have been done so e 30 plus years ago, but today... That is a six figure appology if found in anyone's medial records. Now as a spoken term used between medical staff? I could believe that.

I was going to call BS on that but decided it wouldn't really be part of the topic. I've seen thousands of medical records and have never come across that. Perhaps there is a particular hospital that does that, but it is not in any kind of widespread use.

I doubt that the acronym "CTD" is in widespread use in hospitals.

I work a chain of community clinics, and just about every week we get an email telling us what we can't write in the patients file.

Can you imagine the lawsuits if someone actually saw that in their parent's medical record?

1) starting a business or telling people to start a business is the equevalent to telling an untrained 10 year old to play with a loaded fire arm.

2) as for unemployment of people with a college degree? Bear numbers are meaningless. These employed or even unemployed college grads have crushing debt and too many cannot get a job that pays down their debt. Much less a job in their field.

3) 2/3 of the college advertisements on tv are for what I call mail order challenges. phoenix university has a dismal drop out/fail out percentage, the cost if their classes are also excessive for the quality if the school.

Hell, at one point the US military was going to black list them. This would mean that the military/va and other military education resources wouldn't be availbe for the soldier to used on phoenix university.

Worse yet, I don't know of a single employer who accepts a degree or a college accepting credits from phoenix university or other online schools like it.

As far as the wars go? Great, but even before 9/11, we were bleeding money on the military and receiving little in return. Until our war making equipment is made in the US again, until every computer chip and part is made in the US... The cost of the MIC will not equal the expense.

More over, were already eyeing new targets and limiting the use of drones to hit them. So that means more boots on the ground, becaise we both know that a war hawk will be elected into office within the next 12 years.

A nations economy cannot be judged only on a every 4 year turn over... You need a 10 and 20 year marker and we don't do that. When we do, we fall well short of it. Short of communism/socialism taking hold in the US, we the working men and women will continue is to be told to do more for less and that means the economy will continue to die.

Riobert....what you just described has been the case for decades, I prefur to focus on the positive. The country was looking into the chasm of fiscal meltdown 5 years ago, the economy is in recovery, equal pay for women is now the law of the land, Equal right of marriage has been upheld by the high Court, two wasteful mismanaged wars are ending, 30 million uninsured will be shopping health insurance plans in October, unemployment among those with a college degree is under 5%. Is everyone working in the foreld for which they were trained? No, but the point is they have the available jobs. One need only turn on daytime TV to see 5 Ads an hour from institutions where such degrees can be attained. If someone is working an 8 hour job flipping burgers or working low end retail, that gives then 8 more hours a day to find a second job, look for a better job, or go to school to train for a better job. I started a business with a loan to myself from my 401K, and have tripled my income and standard of living in the last 5 years. All things being equal, life in America is pretty good, or it can be if you make it so.

Recovery? I live this statement made by people who were never in danger of losing their jobs. We haven't recovered anything. Wages are still stagnant, jobs are still outsourcing, and the uneducated or unskilled are still only working jobs which don contribute to the community or this nation.

Until employers pay wages which disqualifies their employees from obtaining government help or social welfare, without adding more work loads to their employees, there will be no recovery. Dish washer, cheeseburger flipper, gas station attendants remain the growing number of jobs... All minimum wage, all poverty jobs.

The stock market is divorced from reality and continues to remain so.

I see our country as one which was brought to the brink of death by neglect and abuse by nincompoops and incompetents, but one which is now well on its way to recovery.

Robert reads your post and smiles politely as he set the glass of scotch onto the table. "I vote we build space ships and go to the moon, then using lasers attached to the backs of space monkies, shoot down the ships of anyone who follows." He said. "Who's with me? Lets leave these backwards people behind and ascend to the stars."

In medical parlance CTD is appended to a medical chart for any patient that is terminal. It st stands for "circling the drain'. Harsh, but such is the practical ethos of or medical practitioners.

Our great country is circling the drain.

It's badly broken and in my opinion, and many others far smarter than I, is simply 'bleeding out' on the world stage. ANYONE that looks can see this, the question is; what are going to do about it?
