The millennium attacks were in stages, many of them Clinton and the world’s intelligence agencies never knew of. The Jordanians NOT us stopped one part of the attack. Our Law Enforcement personal, namely Customs, at LAX stopped another part of the attack. In the LAX incident one person was arrested on scene, the investigation led to three others who were arrested. The incident at LAX was based on Customs agents doing their job NOT on any specific Intel from the White House. The third stage, in Yemen, was never even discovered by ANY Intel agency in the world. Only because the boat, filled with explosives sunk on it‘s own, was the USS Sullivan not attacked. The Dem’s and the lib’s like to use Richard Clarke as the Poster Boy for Bush’s failings. His same book DISCREDITS Clinton for any positive credit in the Millennium attack plots.

No president in history has been through what this pesident has had to endure, with the exception of FDR. and or including, since he knew Japan was coming. give me a break!

User Details are only visible to members.	Not making apologies for Clinton - he has plenty of flaws. Just debunking apologies for Bush's sorry performance. Floyd may have only been a level 2, but everything was still supersaturated due to Dennis a few weeks earlier, and Floyd dumped a LOT of rain - causing about 4.5 billion in damage. Yeah - a lot of people were unnecessarily evacuated. This is akin to the massive evacuation of Houston in the wake of Rita. I've heard people laugh about the Rita evacuation down here, and talk about how badly the traffic was mismanaged - but I've heard almost nobody blame FEMA for calling for the evacuation.

Meanwhile 1995 was a very bad hurricane season, Hurricane Fran in 1996 did significant damage, and Hurricane Floyd in 99 was one of the most expensive in US history - although admittedly the loss of life was mitigated because Clinton declared a state of emergency before the hurricane hit, and evacuated about 2.6 million people ahead of the storm. " war in Afghanistan" ok "Iraq" Blaming the deficit on the war in Iraq is like blaming the collapse of Enron on their fraudulent business practices. In other words - duh! "Social security in the tank" You're kidding, right? If it wasn't for the balance of the Social Security Trust Fund, the Federal Deficit would be twice what it is. "Fuel pinch" Which had nothing to do with invading Iraq, did it? Wow - no reason George Bush never takes responsibility for anything. His followers expect no less from him!

You can look at the chart at: wwwcedarcommcom/~stevelm1/usdebt*htm Your original statement was that the deficit was 5.3 trillion - when in fact (if you roll Social Security into the general fund) Clinton was running a surplus - and not a deficit - when he left office. Something which, incidentally, neither Presidents Reagan, GHW Bush, nor GW Bush have ever accomplished.
