"Its over folks. the System is BROKEN. Time to take it back. Government of the people, by the People, for the People."

Hear hear. Quite refreshing to hear from someone actually disatisified with government in general in this particular forum. I couldn't agree more.

The next question, though, is how do we get this great experiment of Americana back on track?

In order to have revolution -- preferably nonviolent, but any revolution -- the people in general must reach a point of severe dissatisfaction. Currently they are only severely apathetic. I think the first step to take lies in curtailing support of government in any way, shape, form or fashion. That means paying no taxes, refusing to vote (perhaps even protesting on election day), and boiserously criticizing everything the government does.

well i would say that saying the "system is BROKEN and it's time to take it back" is certainy not apathetic (showing little or no emotion)

and i don't disagree that they system of right vs. left with spinmasters, talk shows, radio shows and televisions show reporting/creating news needs a change or a cleaning so to speak. i was happy to read a recent article by a journalist whose opinion i value that they believe that the people of this country are learning to tune out the extremists (franken and coulter types) on both sides which made be feel better. I just wish that all the "commenting heads" would disappear..

I'm sorry to say this but your post sounds pretty apathetic to me. You are against the war? Fine. You think we could have "shored up our borders" after 9/11? How? You know I criticize the government to, but I am the first to admit that I have know idea how to solve most of our problems either. I'm sure Sen would agree, that there are many people who work behind the scenes in order to keep this country secure. Whether or not the policies after 9/11 has anything to do with the fact that there has not been another attack on American soil, is another debate. But the fact is that there hasn't. To blindly condemn both sides is a waste of time and shows little imagination. If you know of a better system or can suggest a way to fix the system, then please share it and lets debate that. but you post as it stands accomplishes nothing, but more cynicism.
