This may take a few posts so hang tight...

Pundits from both sides of the aisle have lauded Mitt Romney’s strong debate performance, praising his preparedness and ability to challenge President Obama’s policies and accomplishments. But Romney only accomplished this goal by repeatedly misleading viewers. He spoke for 38 minutes of the 90 minute debate and told at least 27 myths:

1) “[G]et us energy independent, North American energy independent. That creates about 4 million jobs”. Romney’s plan for “energy independence” actually relies heavily on a study that assumes the U.S. continues with fuel efficiency standards set by the Obama administration. For instance, he uses Citigroup research based off the assumption that “‘the United States will continue with strict fuel economy standards that will lower its oil demand.” Since he promises to undo the Obama administration’s new fuel efficiency standards, he would cut oil consumption savings of 2 million barrels per day by 2025.

2) “I don’t have a $5 trillion tax cut. I don’t have a tax cut of a scale that you’re talking about.” A Tax Policy Center analysis of Romney’s proposal for a 20 percent across-the-board tax cut in all federal income tax rates, eliminating the Alternative Minimum Tax, eliminating the estate tax and other tax reductions, would reduce federal revenue $480 billion in 2015. This amount to $5 trillion over the decade.

3) “My view is that we ought to provide tax relief to people in the middle class. But I’m not going to reduce the share of taxes paid by high-income people.” If Romney hopes to provide tax relief to the middle class, then his $5 trillion tax cut would add to the deficit. There are not enough deductions in the tax code that primarily benefit rich people to make his math work.

4) “My — my number-one principal is, there will be no tax cut that adds to the deficit. I want to underline that: no tax cut that adds to the deficit.” As the Tax Policy Center concluded, Romney’s plan can’t both exempt middle class families from tax cuts and remain revenue neutral. “He’s promised all these things and he can’t do them all. In order for him to cover the cost of his tax cut without adding to the deficit, he’d have to find a way to raise taxes on middle income people or people making less than $200,000 a year,” the Center found.

5) “I will not under any circumstances raise taxes on middle-income families. I will lower taxes on middle-income families. Now, you cite a study. There are six other studies that looked at the study you describe and say it’s completely wrong.” The studies Romney cites actually further prove that Romney would, in fact, have to raise taxes on the middle class if he were to keep his promise not to lose revenue with his tax rate reduction.

Retro-era retribution for the Republic-con Party. The swinging scene is a night with a million eyes and higher consciousness than a political debate between etch-a-sketch Romney and the President of the USA.

“No man. What we swingers were going against were uptight squares like you whose bag was money and world domination. We were innocent man. If we had known the consequences of our sexual liberation, we would've done things much differently but the spirit would remain the same. It's freedom baby. Yeah!” – Austin Powers

We all see your distraction and name calling. It is eating you up, sine you guys are fresh the fuck out of excuses FOR RYAN'S LITTLE ASS SPANKING LAST NIGHT.

Let's talk about that or the next presidential debate?

The distraction and deflection is old. Talk facts.

Resorting to petty name calling does not help your party's debate or case.

"I have long advocated for changes in the law to allow more than two parties to have a chance in our system. There is too much focus on the President and national races. What you really should be paying attention to are the local races. The school board, where your children are being educated. The sheriff, where the law is being applied. The local judges, where the law is being interpreted. And the state and local level, where the great majority of the law is being made. That is where the focus should be..."

HERE, HERE!!!

This is why I laugh my ass off when I get piled on for 'knowing' my congressman and local pols. I've made it a point to know my town Supervisor and actively support his work (he is a Republican) and his candidacy. He is one of the very few that can 'out information' me in a debate, which I respect the hell out of.

Through him I have met many county and state pols. Hell, even the Chamber of Commerce offers many opportunities for one on one face-time with some fairly big players. Through my business I come into contact with quite a few very interesting people, a real cross section of my area. I'm beginning to see some interesting trends.

This idea that you need to get involved in 'the local' is catching on rather fast around here and I'm happy to be spreading that meme...

It is the capitalist way. it forces you to pay for your health otherwise doc should have an option not to provide when you r sick. Once people start paying there will be less people free loading in the ER..JPs will be back. Besides that is Romney's care and it works in a small scale in Mass. As I said it was not only my case we were one out of 30 million people now pay and have insurance. What's wrong with that?

So finally you admit that what's good for you and yours is whom you vote for eh?

Well guess what, in my case, having a democrat in office is not good for me and mine. The so called "Obamacare" is the biggest federal power grab of all time. This isn't Eastern Europe, this is America.

Bernie won't run in the presant circumstances.

The point is that in order to get to the presidential level, one must make too many comprimises for my comfort level.

Public financing would help. So would one 6 year term.
