Only parts for selective fire, not parts for legal guns, or legal homemade guns. Same would be true for suppressors, but then that would make oil filters illegal, the part has to be specific to a selective fire or full auto firearm.

FJ,I got to say you are wrong this time. If you have a part that was made after Nov.1st 1981 that can be installed in a firearm and allow it to become a selective fire weapon, it must be registered with the ATF and you must have your tax stamp. National Firearms Act 1986

If we outlaw high speeds on the highway, only outlaws will get to drive fast. And it's a first step to taking away all our cars.

Not my point....it is the point of the Supreme court of the United States, take it up with them and let me know how that works out for ya

I stand corrected, there is indeed a loop hole in the NY State law that allows for capacity for 1 to three net extra rounds, you are just not allowed to use them,,,,,there is you bone...enjoy it

Robert even a blooming idiot knows there is no federal law requiring gun parts or personal manufactured guns to be registered.

A drunk would still be smarter than a blooming libturd idiot. A drunk can always get sober, not so for the idiot.

PP NY SAFE bans:

Bans possession of any high-capacity magazines regardless of when they were made or sold. The maximum capacity for a detachable magazine is reduced from ten rounds to seven. Magazines owned before passage of the SAFE Act able to hold seven to ten rounds can be possessed, but cannot be loaded with more than seven rounds. .22 caliber tubular magazines are exempt from this limit. Previously legal "pre-1994-ban" magazines with a capacity of 30 rounds are not exempt, and must be sold within one year to an out-of-state resident or turned into local authorities. The magazine limit takes effect April 15, 2013

"PP DC vs Heller does not even mention Hi-cap mags. And as far as 8 round revolvers they are still legal in NY. A revolver cylinder does not match the definition of a magazine.Revolvers are classified as multiple chambers. The restrictions only apply to box type magazines and stripper clips. "

PP doesn't understand the guns or laws. There is no point talking to him about such things.

Goodenuff...where did you ever get the idea that the intent of a law was to stop all activity it prohibits, or that there was any such expectation that a law would do such a thing?

The "only outlaws will have guns" argument is absurd, because it is in effect an argument against ALL laws

A serious question..once which no pro assault weapon advocate has ever given a reasonable answer to...

When was the last time you heard of a crime being committed with an M-16, and why do you suppose it almost never happens?

Many pistol and rifle magazines classified by gun control laws as "high capacity" are actually the factory standard magazines originally designed for use with their respective firearms and reduced capacity magazines were later created in response to enactment of the bans.
