Vacp:

As I stated, the reason these law makers are making these laws is that they are receiving calls from their constituants who demand that something be done. The only thing that the people of this nation are accepting is more law that takes away one's right to guns. We are not accepting laws which will fix the communities and there by reduce the number of crimes committed by gangs.

Gangs formed by a lack of self worth in an individual, self worth in ones self is lacking because the jobs that are available aren't paying a wage which allows one to feel that they contribute to society and are being paid a fair wage for their time and labor.

Norc:

BATF is not the military, BATF's rules can only be limited to their operations, and if a civil war breaks out, the BATF won't be involved... or rather their rules will go bey bey as national security will always trump rules set into place during peace time.

Still the 4th should shoot this law down if they are dumb enough to push it through.

That article is in a clearly dubious website, but the part of the proposed law is quoted like this:

“In order to continue to possess an assault weapon that was legally possessed on the effective date of this section, the person possessing shall … safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection.”

Apparently a requirement that current owners of 'assault weapons' must keep them in a gun safe (or equivalent) is accompanied by a means of confirming that.

The county sheriff "may, no more than once per year" inspect the premises. norcal read this as "requires the local sheriff to come to the homes of the people who own assault weapons and search them those homes yearly "

Some states require annual inspections of automobiles, also for public safety. Of course, this has led to mass confiscation of cars and trucks.

Missouri Democrats are trying to rid the state of assault weapons and high-capacity gun magazines. Democrats in the state House have proposed a bill that would force gun owners to either surrender or destroy weapons including semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines and semi-automatic pistols with a fixed magazine that can shoot more than 10 rounds before being reloaded. Ammunition-feeding devices that can hold more than 10 rounds also would be banned. Owners also could send their weapons to another state instead of surrendering or destroying them and would have 90 days after the bill’s passage to make a decision. However, the measure, backed by St. Louis-area lawmakers, is not expected to pass in the Republican-controlled House. “The only way this bill will pass is if a hammer and sickle is sewn onto Old Glory,” tweeted state Rep. Caleb Jones, a Republican. One of the bill’s sponsors, state Rep. Rory Ellinger, said last week he is a “realist” about the bill’s chances of passage but is serious about “some kind of control of weaponry.” The proposal was made following the Dec. 14, 2012, fatal shootings of 20 first-graders and six adults in a Newtown, Conn., elementary school. It also follows President Obama and fellow Democrats in the Senate trying to tighten gun laws, including universal background checks and bans similar to those posed by the Missouri Democrats. The Missouri measure also would make manufacturing and importing such weapons a felony. Ellinger said his measure focuses on only “military-style” weapons and doesn’t include handguns or hunting rifles, with Missouri being a largely conservative state. Another Democrat-sponsored bill proposed this year in the state General Assembly would require parents to notify their child’s school if they own a firearm. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Here we go. They will never come to your house and take your guns, until they do. When the get caught trying to pass a law that requires the local sheriff to come to the homes of the people who own assault weapons and search them those homes yearly the authors claim it was just a mistake.....

The gun grabbers have far surpassed logic, constitutionality, or even common since. They are now so far across the stupid line they forgot where it is.

surveillance of individuals or specific locations without a warrant will end up being illegal in most of our nation.
