Robert... agreed on all your points....simply add the requirement for a C3 FFL to own semi auto "adaptive combat weapons" and we would be in 100% agreement, so long as we agree that there be no "exceptions" for mental health issues for those people we "feel sorry for". The idea that because someone developed a mental heath issue due to military service be exempt from the restrictions is ridiculous.

If the congress were to limit their desire for gun control to and only to the following, I could support it.

1) take into account family make up. (house hold members mental state.) 2) a full background check. (all 50 states, federal and international levels) 3) impose on all fire arms of all types (if it can fire something at a volocities which penetrate flesh) a title.

The issues which come from this are as follows:

1) medical history and personal information privacy. Too bad, you want to own a weapon, the sales man needs to know who you are and that you are of sound mind. (to include all family members)

this only applies to storage, now ownership. If you wish to store the weapons with a armory such as the police armory (as some communities allow) then I see no problem here and you are except so long as the weapon isn't stored at home.

2) related to 1), but further issues arise from states refusing to file or open to the AFT/FBI the criminal records of all person convicted of crimes, amongst other paper work problems.

3) this is simply common sense. It allows the government (not Tom jones down the street) to know who has what weapon and when. This is important for investigating crimes, and to ensure personal responsibility over the weapons use and storage.

Robert... Agreed,,,the armed guards in 250,000 schools was not only logistically and financially impossible, it was borderline retarded

"- Mrs Lanza was in fact an upstanding member of the community. Squeaky clean. She had in fact already passed several background checks for the pistols she owned"

Jimandjessica...THANK YOU for pointing out EXACTLY the reason expanded and enhanced background checks are needed, and should include household makeup, not to mention severe penalties for allowing access to firearms to felons or the insane...although in her case, she paid the ultimate penalty...Darwin never takes a day off, and doesn't wait for Congress to act and do the right thing

Uparmoring the buses, and replacing the glass windows with bullet resistant windows and magnetically locked classroom doors are the better and most secured method of securing the kids. It beats placing grown adults with guns, with the snot nosed kids who will make it their personal mission in life to piss the guard off... Just enough to make him shout and lose his job due to becoming stressed and scaring the kids. (making them think the guard will shoot them.)

Remember Seung-Hui Cho? He was the Virginia Tech shooter. Registered democrat. He had made it onto the Secret Service watch list. For sending threatening letters to Bush.

Lucky - Mrs Lanza was in fact an upstanding member of the community. Squeaky clean. She had in fact already passed several background checks for the pistols she owned.

Was Mrs Lanza an outlaw gun runner or law abiding gun owner? if indeed she was the ladder, she would not have owner the gun used in the killings had there been a ban

And she would still be alive. LMAO She stopped suckin ghis dick and it pissed him off ...Who cares? Bottom line if we protected our kids like we do your money, those kids would be alive today.
