| First off I don't think they would call it that, They will probably use a PC political catch phrase, just to piss of conservatives if for nothing else. But how do you think A democat would handle the "War on Terror"? Barrak Obama? Hillary? Gore? Kerry? Edwards (No chance in hell but.....), oh and our favorite Dennis Kusinich. |

Char" That is correct. The person with 35% has the plurality of votes and is elected. Although in some jurisdictions, in the primaries, the two top vote getters will have a runoff to ensure someone gets a majority. |

A majority is, by definition, at least 50%+1. 30% is less than 50%, last I checked.
You may be thinking of a plurality-is the largest share of something, which may or may not be considered an absolute majority, i.e. it is the largest group/category, but is not necessarily a majority (more than half). Clinton was elected with a plurality (40 some percent) both times, rather than a majority. |

I dont think a majority needs to be more than 30 percent these days. With so many different opinions 30 % is a big number. look at the number your new congress has.
Bush is doing what a lot of us feel is right. I know if a son of mine died in this war and Libs pulled the troops out after he was killed i would go postal. Char |
