A man opened fire at a Delaware courthouse on Monday, killing two women and wounding two others before he was fatally shot, officials said. The shooting occurred at around 8 a.m. ET at the New Castle County Courthouse in Wilmington, Del., when the gunman was stopped by Capitol Police at a security checkpoint inside the main lobby, Mayor Dennis Williams told NBC10 in Philadelphia. The court was not yet open. Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack said that the two people wounded were Capitol Police officers. They were transported to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del., with non-life threatening injuries. Shavack said the suspect exchanged gunfire with officers in the lobby. It was not immediately known whether the suspect was killed by police or died of a self-inflicted wound. Police said they have preliminary identification of the gunman, who was in his late 20s to early 30s, but would not yet release that information. and the beat goes on...

User Details are only visible to members.	Party: We are discussing weapons... Please stop the childish antics of a straw man grabbing for everything he can to try and make a weak point. If we are to ban one type of weapon which can be created using 3d printing (which will be simple and made more simple in the coming years) Then we ought to ban all weapons for the same reason. More over, you are targeting assault weapons when hand guns are the most prolific weapon used by criminals. This makes your argument weak and thus banning all or nearly all fire arms becomes a stronger argument to be made. Such an argument is again, rejected by me. I demand real solutions or to not waste political capital on half assed solutions to make one feel better about themselves.

"If ______ is outlawed, only outlaws will _______ " If we are to ban things that are a threat, why not ban them all? When do we stop banning objects which maybe reasonably used as a offensive weapon? For defending ones home, a gun which fires salt or plastic rounds are just as debilitating as one which fires penetrating rounds. Only almost no one dies from salt or plastic bullets. We currently have the technology to breath into a device and determine if we are drunk or not, why not mandate that all cars be equipped with such a device and only once you breath into it, does your ignition permit ignition of your vehicle? Any vehicle not so equipped must be removed from the roads as a hazard to safety. When and where does the line between public safety and personal responsibility lie? If a person is truly desiring to make a better future, they must accept that there are somethings you can't control and the manufacturing of weapons is one of the factors we are losing control over. There for we must shift the argument from banning things to how to improve society so to remove the street gangs, so to get people with mental and emotional issues the help they need.... In short, fixing society.

Party: Your useing a strawman argument and fail because you are trying to ban weapons to save lives when the lives lost are lost to social issues and criminals who use tools which you aren't focusing on. The social issues is poverty and income inequality. The toolsost used aren't rifles, they are handguns. Now because of the advancement of technology, the entire idea of banning things is becoming a strawman argument in and of itself. This to avid the strawman argument, you must look to society and fix that the best you can rather than the tools which you have lost control over. If you want to remain laser targeted against a tool, you are arguing for the sake of arguing... Not fixing something.

Change the words and it is the same argument as legalizing robbery, rape and murder" Really? How so? Robbery, rape and murder are all acts which are deemed illegal by all civilized nations. My debate isn't about any of these, but rather the usefulness of wasting political power on bans which are far too unpopular and will cost you seats and worst of all... Solve nothing for the criminals will get the banned material anyway. Only now you have also infringed upon the lawful and mentally able minded persons freedom to use said weapons in a lawful and safe manner. Because you didn't like them. That is what your arguments are boiled down to. You don't like the weapons in anyones hands and will ignore any argument to the fact that the real threats to our society are ignorance and greed. Your ignorance to the fact that the criminals murder innocent people like that girl who attended Obamas inauguration. She by all accounts were not part of a gang, nor were the people she was with. What is known as fact is that the more dangerous gangs require you to bloody yourself to prove allegiance to the gang. So that the gang may for ever keep you and your dirt and to hang over your head for all time. What weapon was used to kill her? A hand gun. If you are so intent on weapon bans... Then demand that hand guns be banned. Demand that they be restricted to six shooters and make speed loaders illegal as well. But you wont... You are afraid of a weapon stripped down so not to be a assault weapon by technicalities and you ignore the one kind of weapon that kills more people in this nation than any other fire arm... For this, you make yourself a radical in this issue.

All the while providing mental and physical health to the most needy first than the least needy second. This isn't the 1700s, this is 2013 and we must begin to care and provide for the common good of all, least we provide for nothing at all.
