Original Starting post for this thread:
In the past, we have found the holiday season, from Halloween through New Year's to be our busiest time of the year for swinging. It seemed like everyone wanted to see us or host a swing party.

The last couple of years our friends, for one reason or another, have stopped hosting holiday parties. And now we find ourselves with invitations from 2 couples and another invitation to a house party - all in January.

Does anyone else sense a "feast or famine" in their swinging?

When is YOUR busiest "swing season?"

I think I have figured out at least part of the reason for the seasonality in our playtime. I think it's the age group we play with. Since we are in our upper 50's, we play almost exclusively with couples over 45 years old. The connection is, summers and holidays produce slower than normal swinging invitations because THE KIDS ARE HOME FROM COLLEGE!!!

Younger couples who still have kids at home year-round don't have an "empty nest season."

huh... We don't really look at it like most, We enjoy the lifestyle but our lives are run by other motives. I would say we play at least once a month but maybe more some months. Holidays around Nov and December are our worst because of so much family around. We turn a lot away also but very respectively and usually because of attitude toward us.

We've only been into this for a year and a half or so, but we tend to meet others once a month or so. Sometimes it is more often, sometimes way less often. We did notice that our busy/slow season is really dependent on what our friends are doing. If it's the busy season in their normal life, our swing meets seem to get less frequent....lol. No seriously, it seemed that the summer was the season for swinging. We attributed that to more time to spend with the kids during the week so you didn't feel guilty getting out more often.

Things are pretty constant for us. We turn down many invitations because once a month works best for us (although we've been known to alter that on occasion, LOL). Guess we're fortunate enough to have enough invitations for that to be the case.
