Barbarossa: The Russian-German Conflict, 1941-45 might be what you are looking for.

It covers both tactical and strategic for just about every battle of the eastern front.

Hey PG - it's Mrs. L. Besides The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, which was very interesting and very well written, I haven't read anything else about WWII. I'm more into strategy than tactics, and I wouldn't be afraid of reading some big tome that describes it from soup to nuts. Thanks in advance for asking Trooper for a recommendation!

Mr Leeza, what would you like to read about for WWII? Tactics? Stories? History?

I haven't read any of them but parts of the one written about his grandfather. Trooper is the military history person in the house. Combat Commander by Harmon Patton a Genius for War by D' Estes are two of his favorites.

My books tend towards Erotic or Burlesque.

I'd like to read that Jimmy Hoffa book. I'll have to put that on my list. Right now, I'm reading The Devils Knot. It's about the West Memphis Child Murders and the WM3 investigation and railroading of the 3 that were obviously wrongly convicted.

I'm also reading Dethroning the King, about the hostile takeover of Anhueser Busch by In-Bev. An interesting read if you are or were a Bud drinker! AND..lastly...In the Presidents Secret Service. An interesting tell all by a former SS agent. According to him LBJ had a dick like a horse, and didnt mind showing it off!! ...among other tidbits.

"I Heard You Paint Houses" : Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran & Closing the Case on Jimmy Hoffa. An interesting Mafia autobiography, some of which took place in NE Pa, an area I'm very familiar with.
