I'm up this early because apparently I didn't tell enough people on the mainland that I'm in Honolulu this week so they keep calling me between 3:30 and 4:30 in the morning.

My sleep this week has been wretched. Worst in a long long time.

I cancelled my gym membership; just got tired of going to the same place so I am looking at the current Men's Fitness Blueprint for any Man workout (pg 96)which is a total dumbbell workout, no cardio required and thinking about doing that for the next several weeks.

Major work has been underway for some time for a universal flu vaccine, rendering you immune to all variants of influenza. It might be limited to "one vaccine per group of flu viruses", so multiple shots may be required for total immunity.

If this is ever successful, I will get the flu shot - no question. In my opinion, right now the success rate of the flu shot does not warrant most healthy people getting it (although there is very little risk of harm in doing so).

If a flu similar to the Spanish flu of 1918 appears (one which prompts cytokine storms in healthy individuals) - I'll be first in line for the vaccine, however.....

I never get the flu shot. Hubby always does, he has to, it's mandatory for him.

When I was told that I have the flu, and I said that I should have gotten the shot, the nurse said the same thing as you did VA, that this year it would have been completely useless.
