I know Bayou, I'm Eastern European, but for some idiotic reason didn't realize that a thermometer is part of the metric system. I kept thinking, gee how do you measure centimeters with a thermometer ;)

Sed, Everything up here in the great white north is in a metric conversion. We use Kilometers instead of miles, we use a base 10 measurement (meters) instead of a base 12 (feet), and we use Celsius instead of Fahrenheit.

So if you hear someone in Canada say, "It's 10 degrees out", they are refering to a Celsius scale, and basically saying "It's 50 degrees Fahrenheit out."

Our thermostat is set for 22.5C year round, which is the equivalent of 73 Fahrenheit.

"My previous home cost us about 2K a month to "heat""

Hell, you could have replaced all the windows in the house for 2 grand!

Yeah, it's metric. Honestly, it's easier for me to understand anyway since I work in laboratories and process manufacturing plants where metric measurements are the standard across all the Americas anyway.

When I'm in a rental cal tooling around, the first thing I figure out how to do (after finding a rock station in the area) is convert the temperature range on the dash from F to C.
