yesterday we had a pork tenderloin that i crock potted all day. It smelled so good cooking all day. Along with corn and pineapple slices. Added bbq sauce to the shredded pork and put it on wheat buns.

tonight is salad.

I honestly don't know about your area. If there are plenty of Jamaicans of Hispanics in the area, I'm sure the local supermarket would carry them. Wouldn't hurt to ask. I seriously say it's worth the search (for my taste). Some, depending on the tree, are have a touch of sweetness, others are creamy and almost buttery. You might like it and might not. To me, it tastes like home. If you ask in a Jamaican store, it's bread fruit. If you ask in a hispanic shop it's "panas" (pah-nahs).

Breadfruit is a big green ball that grows on trees. The insides are starchy and white and can be roasted, boiled, or baked. It has more flavor than a potato, some even taste like fresh bread.

If you like potatoes, I suggest you try breadfruit at least once for a more exotic starch. If you go to Hedo, see if they have some.. Jamaica is BIG on breadfruit. I love it.
