Sexy M, you have been misinformed about doves. Here in south central Pa anyway. Doves are a wild game bird here, nobody raises them and they are plentiful. You don't get much meat off them, just the breast. But as you well know, I am a breast man anyway. Fixed correctly, I think you would really enjoy them.

yup they are of the same family and there could be much debate over them being different.

anyway as far as eating one from the NYC area hell no.

a bird that eats their natural foods in the wild is a different story or one fed in captivity.

I like dove but this old country boy is not going to eat a damn dirty pigeon anytime soon. Around here doves eat seed and grain from the fields and pigeons hang around barnyards eating the undigested remains from animal waste. But it's your plate, put on it what you want I say, lol.

I eaten plenty of wild dove.....fantastic! I didn't know that they were raised for such purposes.

Although doves and pigeons are similar the big difference (wild) is what they eat.

To answer your question Doves and pigeons are different birds but often referred to as the same type of bird in here in the northeast.

Sauteed chicken and mixed mushrooms, steamed brocc and caulf for me, green beans for Gary.....

Tomorrow not sure, learning how to cook new things due to Gary's illness....and sometimes making 2 seperate meals.... but still doing well on loosing weight :)

Mentioned T.Reno's book to the doc, hes checking it out to see if its ok for Gary, since he can not have certain things any more...
