Mrs VA's father and stepmother are visiting

(whew - we sure get a lot of Canadians visiting us since we moved to Florida...)

They brought me... wait for it...

PEAMEAL BACON!!!!

There is nothing I miss more about Canada than peameal bacon. OMG. I fucking love it.

There is, of course, no such thing as "Canadian bacon". That's an American term. Canadians call it "ham cut in a circle". It's just ham. But if something should be called Canadian bacon, it would be peameal bacon, which I cannot buy here and I love love love LOVE it. I miss it. Ohhhh damn and I ate 1.5 POUNDS of it this morning for breakfast. FUCK YEAH!

For the most part, dark choc is vegan BUT you always have to read the label. Some companies (like Hershey) put milk in everything.

I would not suspect that a dark choc smoothie would be vegan though. A lot of protein powders are made with whey plus the smoothies are usually milk based. If you don't specifically ask for plant based protein and milk it probably would not be vegan at all.

Dumb question:

Isn't dark chocolate vegan, generally?
