I have to say, breakfast at my sister's house was marvelous. She did an excellent job and it was the highlight of my morning after mass being with my niece and nephew and other family members. I ate a lot of the ackee and salt fish and just a sliver of the black cake which is always excellent.

Mrs VA's aunt made "eggs on fire", basically eggs poached in (and served with) spicy tomato sauce with Parmesan and bread. It was *outstanding*. I had never heard of such a thing and enjoyed it immensely, especially with my tangerine/Cointreau mimosas....

I am going to my sister's for breakfast on Christmas Day. Before I could finish my tirade about what I am not eating, she cut me off, bitch, LOL and told me we're having some traditional Jamaican food which was music to my ears since I don't want all those carbs. On the menu is ackee and salt fish. Those of you who have been to Hedo may have had it as they serve it on the breakfast buffet or at least they did when I was there, turkey sausage, eggs, ambrosia and some other stuff I can't remember and my brother sent down a Jamaican black cake and hard dough bread so I don't have to bring anything....how can I show up with nothing, so I am going to pick up a Tortuga Rum Cake. It will offset the black cake which a lot of people don't eat.
