ONS, I haven't used mine daily since living in NYC back in '92. A little after that in So. Ca, but not again until working in the trades post-K. We had a huge influx of Latinos, looking for work and trying to make better lives for their families.

Nic, that she does, but who am I to complain?

BT, you're right....and I noticed that right after I had posted, but didn't bother to delete and repost correctly. I took 6 years of grade school Spanish, but it was mostly grinding over the sasme stuff, didn't seem to build, so no true fluency. 20 years later, I need it almost daily for work in a bordertown, so my Spanglish {or TexMex} has gotten really good!
I've also studied a couple of other languages but not to that extent.

ONS, 4 years of HS Spanish, two in college and I forget stuff like that? I just knew it didn't look right. I'm a big fan ofthe tilde though. I just like the way that word sounds. Though I think it's an accent and not a tilde in the case of quien, no?

Fres, no offense taken. I'm thrilled it was a typo. I can't pull off Y'all with my slight Boston accent either.

...and TB, I like the way that you speak southern.

FFC, it is even harder to keep a straight face when hearing me say "y'all" with my Eastern European accent, lol!

Fres, you're cute, so we'll let you say it however you like.

I've been saying y'all all my life, so it comes natural, but I also say "you guys" under certain circumstances, too. Of course being from the Deep South, I also learned how to wink by the time I was three!

Bridge, no offense on the NoLo thing! I'm a California girl, transplanted here to the south...Not sure about the proper terms and all. I can barely say y'all with a straight face!
