Need advise. We have no mugginess in the basement, but do have water issues. They began after we installed the radon system (they found radon in the basement and installed a system to divert the gas out of the basement, they needed to block the french drain for that). So we're looking to waterproof the basement. We've had 6 different companies giving us estimates. All came within $3K difference from each other. Our problem is that they're not all using the system to waterproof the basement.
We need advise, help!!!! |

Where as an old fella may not worry about being above ground for much longer, those who value health may want to do more than just "install a bath fan in a window to hande Radon Gas....
for a proper installation here is an example of what is entailed in an installation- www . wpb-radon . com/Radon_system_photos . html |

They may not have matured yet, I suggest keeping them in a dark closet deep in the basement then

What kinds of "whines " do you keep in your cellar?

Classic.
Possibly the greatest autocorrect in the history of the fora. |

I couldn't deal with not having a basement. They are a great place to put a whine cellar, a gaming room and or a networked server for computers which now are your render farm for 3d modeling. No heat issues, always cool... which is great for your vodka and the best part is... nearly no one bothers you down there.
Sadly, the electrical in our basement isn't as good as the first and second floor... We haven't gotten around to rewiring the basement, but we have done so for the first two floors. |
