Wait, you mean to tell me that rich people are prone to spend frivolously on seemingly useless products? No freaking way!

Also, I'm not much for grammar policing, especially when it comes to correcting the usual errors like "your vs you're," or "there vs their," or in this instance, "waste vs waist." We've all had those brain farts at one time or another and unless you're a serious repeat offender, it's hardly worth pointing out. But if you're going to correct someone, you should at least make sure that the post containing your correction is free of grammar violations as well. (ie: Don't tell me they don't waste nothing.) Double negatives are a big no-no.

"Out: I doubt you have ever worked for or been around actually rich people. They are very careful about their money. They minimize risk and work very hard making sure all the ducks are in order. That is the reason they are "rich". They waist nothing. Every penny is accounted for. People who try to act rich waist money and get into really bad debt."

Mark, there is a street (5th Ave.) in Naples, Florida, one of the most affluent cities in America, that is lined with shops that sell the most useless crap at the most outrageous prices, that have been in business for years, So don't tell me they waste (not waist) nothing. I am not saying that it is not their right to do so, but it does make one wonder just how straight a line their "ducks" are and much better use that money could put to use at.

Poor and uneducated people may piss away their money, but rich people probably do worse with it. One rich person may waste as much money as a thousand poor people. But 1000 poor people might be better off with the money, while that one rich person will hardly miss it.

I'm probably in the vast minority here, but I honestly don't care about Section 8 housing or welfare recipients and how they spend their money. Sure, I'd be thrilled if the people receiving gov't assistance were all thoughtful and thrifty with their money rather than wasteful, but that's never going to happen. Most of the people receiving assistance checks are too uneducated to know how to spend and save properly.

But here's why I don't care.

If all forms of gov't assistance programs were eliminated today, would the portion of my tax dollars spent on gov't assistance be given back to me? No. The government would simply find another way to foolishly spend the money I give them. That money would almost certainly be put to no better use than it is right now. So why bother getting pissed off over the fact that some dead beats are getting a free ride?

I really don't care how nice or spacious their new Section 8 housing might be. It's still not better than anything I can afford. They have DirecTV? Good for them. So do I. They have nice cars? I do too. So their "good fortune" is not coming at the expense of my own comfort.

If I had any confidence in the fed gov't to intelligently spend that money on other projects, I'd be the first in line to demand assistance programs be dramatically cut or eliminated. But the gov't will piss away that money just as foolishly and frivolously as the people currently getting it. You know why? Because the dickbags in Congress haven't earned that money either and they spend other people's money just as foolishly as some schmuck in Section 8 housing will. So why bother getting pissed off about a group of ungrateful morons getting a few pennies out of your paycheck when the alternative is just giving it to another group of ungrateful morons?

Mark, a capable, self-reliant guy like you should be able to do much better than Section 8 housing.

Mark:

And if employers paid a wage which kept these people off welfare and other programs, they would have to pay for all of these tricked out cars and dishes.

But instead the employers want to pay poverty wages. Those who would actually pay better if they could afford to, would be able to as the public would have a greater amount of cash to buy with.

The rich could have paid better, but didnt. Now a ineffecemt system will collect a greater amount of their wealth. Spend half of it paying for the government expenses and then paying the other half of the taxed money to the recipiants.

Yes, the government cost to operate. The taxed money spent to preset theses welfare programs is money lost to most everyone... But you know what? I jus cannot seem to being myself to tears over it. If the rich man leaves, then he leaves and we will adapt and adopt socialism or communism and continue on.

After all, the poor do not care where their food comes from. The red white and blue, or blood red and good sickle and hammer. So long as their bellies are full and they can feel that their work is appreciated by a wage which doesn't keep them in fear of losing everything.

The game of pushing further, faster ought to be a game played by those choosing to play it, not those unable to play the game as a result of simply never bein motivated enough to do so. 9/10 o all people are followers. Only 1/10 are leaders and capitalism is a game played by leaders, not followers.

CPL: The Section 8 housing now being built have very strict Federal guide lines in order to qualify for getting getting a Section 8 contract, under the rules. People on welfare are no longer allowed to live in minimum standard conditions. Belive me guy. These apartments are spacious and well appointed. I know people who tried to rent there. But were turned down. Sorry you don't qualify. Because they have jobs. And you should see the cars parked there. Nice and tricked out! Not to mention the satellite dishes all over the place.

Obama does not have, and would not have if the rules were changed, control of the national debt.

Congress passes appropriation bills. The President has nothing to do with it.
