Yeah, RDY, and if you look at the brain power of about 40% of our citizenry, many of whom don't even know who George Washington was, that is asking a lot! Maybe we do need to improve our National gene pool by letting nitwits off themselves by baking stupid choices based on their own stupidity.

So Andrew, your expecting that power plant to clean the smoke from their stacks, letting car companies/oil companies pollute the air with toxic emissions. How about that child safety seat in your back seat, you'll just take the word of the company in china that makes it, you sure it doesn't have lead paint on it. Government involvement is a necessary freedom we all have. The best part is we can change the government every 2 years in Nov. Now there is real personal responsibility.

How about this? The government should stop taxing products because of their "danger". The government should also stop paying for health care for anyone. Then we could have the freedom to use whatever product we want, and we have to pay for the consequences of our choices ourselves. I know, freedom and personal responsibility are such old fashioned ideas.

Sexy:

So you are telling me that you did not know inhaling smoke was bad for you?

Do you not die from smoke inhalation when in a fire? Was there no warning labels a out cancer? And from the point the labels were posted... What were you doing? What is your IQ?

How do you know that, Bobbie, you weren't born then. You don't know squat about stuff right now, let alone what was what before you were born. You just make it up as you go to suit your purpose, just like Obama does, and look at the swivit he's got us into.

I won't disagree with you at all there, Frank. Everyone is different with respect to what will work for them. My Dad quit on Jan. 1, 1973, a New Years resolution he made a few days after he found out I was coming along.

He just stopped. He was apparently a cranky asshole for about 6 weeks and that was that.

Granted many people are different, I stopped smoking in 5 days. But I had some help from people in my office. 2 of us came down with one of those terrible colds and smoking just made us miserable and we just didn't smoke. We decided to quit and we kinda goated each other into not smoking. After the 5 days we pretty much were cured and just like sexy said the rest was up to our own convictions and perseverance to keep from smoking. That was over 30 years ago and the best thing I ever did. I know you'll all jump on that everyone is different and maybe they can't stop in 5 days. But my motivation was to stop and I did it and I'm better off for doing it and have saved a fortune.

Robbie, are you stoned again? You're not even coming close to making sense. To answer your question, tho, I was a smoker from 15 to 50. At 48 I became aware that smoking was REALLY bad. I took me two agonizing years to stop. I did it by forcing myself to run every morning for five miles. It just takes personal initiative and perseverance.
