I have to agree with GFandME, (and not just because of her nice boobs) If some simpleton sets off a bomb at one of the showings, law suits could be pouring out of the rain pipes

@wifelover, wrong. not the same. this is a serious issue for the theaters and sony cause they have a WARNING of a disaster to come if its played. all involved would be sued into oblivion if it happened while knowing it was coming.

On the contrary, we should blame the businesses, for they are run by those who assert themselves above the rest of society as business leaders. With that leadership, comes the obligation not to be cowarded by weaklings from across the sea.

Well it's both. "The theaters" announced they didn't want to carry it, although certainly some would have. Had Sony stuck to their guns and released it, surely *some* would have shown it.

But it's the same reasoning for all - it's purely a business decision. The theaters and Sony (and now Paramount) didn't want to accept the liability, and I don't blame them. It really sucks.

If we want to take this to the logical conclusion, it is not Sony but the theaters that cancelled the screenings...

Well then, with our litigious society in mind, maybe all the movie theaters should just shut down right now to avoid lawsuits. Maybe every single form of entertainment outside our homes should be terminated. Then we can all just stay home, cowering in fear.

It wouldnt even matter who did it. It could be another James Holmes kinda thing, completely unconnected to the hackers. They'd still be sued into oblivion.

Robert, you are simply wrong this time, sorry

it is 100% because this country is so damn litigious. The second something hapened to a movie theater, most of the people/or family would sue everyone involved. its how this country has become. this is not a fear, its fact that would happen. Its good business for the movie theaters to not show it.

i would absolutely go to see the movie on xmas if it was showing.
