"Back when I was a kid, we called guys like that cheats, crooks, liars and cowards."

It seems at some point you called them employers as well.

Like I said, a major credibility problem....

Are you certain it's not YOU that you are angry with?

Rdy:

As stated countless times before, (and a leading reason I doubt half of what you say) I was in the national guard. I entered it at a odd time for my unit. Basic training during the units deployment, tech school between deployments, deployed a year after basic. Returned, just as the Air Force was reorganizing red horse units, so we were skipped a deployment in favor of active duty obtaining more deployed time.

As for veteran job fairs, again. Have you ever stopped to read the minimum requirements for consideration? I do not possess any of the skills required. Why? Because most all of them require college degrees in subjects I do not have, and do not desire to. Why? Not because of the work hours or conditions, but because the job discriptions themselves sound so unclear themselves.

Again, of the job fairs with clearly defined career fields, the required skills start with a specialized 2-4 year degree. So they are of no use to me, because I do not have the skills needed to get my resume beyond the slush pile.

I'm sorry sexy, My kids were taught all those things in school and by us their parents and so far, I see my grand children learning the things you mentioned in school and by their parents and their grand parents.

Bobby boy but you went to school and got a degree, you spent 4 years in the Air Force, you did a tour of duty in a war zone. Any company has and would hire some one like you in minute and put you straight into any number of management training courses they need for future growth in their company. I see thousands of job fairs throughout the country for Veterans and companies looking to hire Veterans. But, you obviously don't want to go and even talk to them to see what your prospects are. If I was looking for a job and had a chance to meet with 50 to a 100 companies, you better believe I'd have 500 resumes printed up to pass out.

And how did you work for Giant Foods when you were in the Air Force for 4 years. Military service teaches discipline just what companies look for in a candidate to hire.

Exactly right, 2Saint, Kids are being taught by our socialistic, Union dominated School system that they are wonderful little creatures all, and if anything goes wrong, they should follow our Presidents policy of blaming somebody else, asking for help from those paying taxes (it's only their FARESHARE), and making up a bullshit story about it that try's to make him look good. He hires people like Sandra Rice to add Monkey Shit to the story, too. Kids are picking up fast on how to discharge oneself of responsibility. Back when I was a kid, we called guys like that cheats, crooks, liars and cowards.

Hell sexy parents stopped teaching that at home. All those things I learned way before i started going to school.

One other thing kids don't learn nowdays and that there are consequences for every action.

But maybe that's the new evolution, maybe we are headed to an Idiocracy type world.

A few things they don't teach in school these days are:

1. Lean to respect your elders for they have experience; you don't. 2. Obey your Mother and your father. 3. Learn that life is not, repeat not, all about you. 4. Listen, listen, and then listen and learn. While doing so, keep your mouth shut. 5. Try your best to get straight A's. If not, work harder until you do. 6. Think hard every day how you can help do the family chores. Learn to spot what needs to be done and do it - all by your self. 7. Stop thinking you are Gods gift to humanity, and thus are owed anything by others. 8. Learn how to accept your mistakes and learn from them - instead of blaming others for your problems and mistakes. 9. Think of others before you think about yourself - especially other family members. 10. Always try your best to contribute more to society than you receive. 11. Always - ALWAYS, try your best to be PRODUCTIVE!

That's one company, and have you stop to think that maybe you worn't capable of moving up because of your work ethic. Every smart business man out there knows it's always better to promote from with in than to hire from the outside. It motivates your work force to be loyal and work harder.

You seem to think I come from a better economic level than you, helll most likely I come from a lower one, My old man never earned more than 1500. a month and my mother was a stay at home mom. I started working when I was 11 yrs old. So don't tell me that a man can not left himself up by his own boot straps Just because you haven't been able to do so..

2saint:

What part of no skills, no upward mobility do you not understand?

I worked at giant food from when I was 15, ending at 24. Never once was a worker promoted to assistant manager without first having an associates in business, and manager without having a batchlers degree in business management.

Giant would sooner take a fresh out of college bachelor student and make them a manager, than their fifty year old workers who worked the job sense the company first entered Hazleton.

Education = skills. Experience is just icening on the cake these days.

So why don't you tell me how well all those new methods or working out for you. Seem I don't remember kids shooting up schools or 12yr old girls stabbing their friend 19 times to empress a fictional character when I was growing up.

Well Boddy you can look at it this way, If one is able they can pay to go to collage and then still have no experience when they enter the work force or if you are like my family (coming for meager means) you can start work young at the bottom and gain the skills you need and if done right be above the of a college grad of the same age. The point is you do what you have to do. And so you will know being poor today is no different than it was when I was you age. When I was 21 I worked 60 hrs plus a week for a measly 900. a month and had a wife and kid to care for. It wasn't easy but again You do what you have to do or you die.
