The Government imposed rules upon businesses, because businesses chose to abuse the communities they exist in. No different than any other reason for a rule to exist.

That goes the same for taxation. Business stopped providing benefits to the workers, raised the cost of living without raising the standard of living and forced the people to vote into power a more authoritarian government. This government pays for the social safety net by means of social welfare.

If you do not like the rules being made, perhapse you should tell business to stop trying to cheat the government, their workers and the communities they exist in. Take your medicine and learn from it, so that in 100 years, you can see these rules and regulations go away.

Could it be that if our Socialistic Government stopped strangling business and industry with new rules, laws, forms to fill, permits to obtain, more and more taxes to pay, and an avalanche of new restrictions of every kind imaginable, we might become a productive nation again? Why are we trained by the Government and half of our media to hate success so much? Just what if we got back to what made us the greatest nation in the world again? How many on here got richer in the last 5 years? How many got poorer? How are we to answer our kids when they grow up and find out we left them to pay a looming 20 trillion debt? How about our respect as a Nation in the world? Wouldn't it be nice to recover that? The worst part is that the very poorest are the ones most hurt, despite Obamacare. Despite welfare, despite our Government pandering to them for votes. Is this really what we want?

I wouldn't be entirely against limiting who can run for office to 1 part working man, and 1 part businessman... The only problem is that the businessman will do exactly the same as the current doctors, lawyers and other wealthy who go into politics.... And the common working man who stands up to become a politician... Yeah, he'll become equally corrupted by power and the promise of wealth.

Term limits limit the experience one needs to get things done, it is why new congressmen need at the least 2 election cycles to learn the game and we still have the issue of promised money corrupting our leaders.

Sen. Chuck Schumer defended Democrats’ strategy of slamming the billionaire Koch brothers, predicting Monday that the efforts “will work.”

“The Koch brothers aren’t just sitting there innocently on the side,” Schumer said. “They’re spending $40, $50 million in ads that are not focused on their real agenda, which is just eliminating all regulation on corporations, cutting taxes to virtually nothing. And so that demands a response. So I don’t feel sorry for them.”

- April 6, 2014 on MSNBC's "Morning Joe"

--------------------

" Thank you so much for the generous KOCHPAC contribution to my 2010 campaign for re-election to the United States Senate..... Again, I can't thank you enough. All of my best to you and yours, and I look forward to working with you throughout this election."

- Chuck Schumer, in a letter to KOCHPAC (The Koch Brother's political organization) Oct. 28, 2009.

It doesn't matter which party is in control at any level of government local, state, federal they all become self serving crooks willing to do almost anything to stay in office. Perhaps we should ban lawyers from congress and we could elect business leaders and common people to fill their positions. People that know what it is like to live and work in the real world not in the make believe world of DC where everything is black and white By the way Havingfun Johnson just built up the forces in Nam at the instances of military leaders as well as members of congress. Kennedy did not want to increase the number of Americans in Viet Nam and really wanted to decrease the number but he was killed before he could do it. By the way did you serve and if you did was any time spent over there. I will not insult you by saying that you spent your youth in school or ran off to Canada. If you did serve were you spit on and called baby killers by your peers when you returned home. Just wondering.

Vabeach:

"This actually really shocks me that Hank Aaron would lower himself to saying that. He always struck me as a real class act in spite of how shittily people treated him during his career."

Maybe it is because... It's true.

The republicans in office play to the lowest common denominator, and if my community is any example, then that LCD is much like Just us.

Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of Hank Aaron's 715th home run, breaking Babe Ruth's record.

He chose to mark the anniversary with this comment:

""We can talk about baseball. Talk about politics. Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he's treated..... The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts."
