I just heard a rumor that the banks in Greece are taking cash from customers' safe deposit boxes to fund the ATM's and issuing promissory notes to pay the customers back....WTF. Is that even legal?

He played Gaston at Disney for a time. There is a video out there of him doing one arm, side lying push ups when challenged to a push up contest by a visitor to the park.

CALAIS, Maine — Authorities said a 22-year-old man died after he launched a firework off the top of his head on Saturday night.

WCSH reported that 22-year-old Devon Staples and his friends were drinking at the time of the incident. It reportedly happened in the backyard of one of Staples’ friend’s homes in Calais, Maine.

According to the state Department of Public Safety, Staples placed a fireworks mortar tube on his head and set it off. He died instantly after the firework exploded.

The victim’s brother, Cody Staples, told the New York Daily News it was an accident. He said his brother was holding a lighter and it accidentally caused the firework to go off.

“I was the first one who got there. There was no rushing him to the hospital. There was no Devon left when I got there,” his brother said. “It was a freak accident. …. But Devon was not the kind of person who would do something stupid. He was the kind of person who would pretend to do something stupid to make people laugh.”

Staples lives in Orlando where he used to work at Disney World. He was most recently working as a dog walker.

Officials say this is the first fireworks-attributed death in Maine since they were legalized two years ago.

VA,

Hadn't heard that one. Someone could point out that the rainbow theme goes back to the sixties for NBC. I distinctly remember the NBC peacock in various shades of grey. My parents weren't exactly what you would call "early adopters" of color TV.

Some people are accusing NBC of changing their logo to "gay colors" in order to capitalize on current events.

NBC adopted their current logo/color scheme in 1986.

BLT - Glad we can agree on that. Being involved in animal rescue I have had to sit through some horrendous home videos of animal abuse as part of raids/arrests/rescues to help identify participants and understand layouts of properties in order to go in after police to get animals out. One of the worst parts is the people laughing as they torture, fight and abuse creatures that have no voice.

These monsters rarely stop with animals. They often also abuse children and women, and are usually pretty brutal to all humans. The girl in the story VA mentioned would likely have gone on to commit even worse sexually based crimes. I hope she gets the help she needs.

@rabbit: My bad! You are absolutely right. I was at someone's home and this was in the video player so I was like captive. It was so long ago I never thought of it in that light at that time. In today's world, animal abuse would be the proper term.

There certainly shock value left for me! I'm shocked that someone would sit and watch a video to completion of an animal being sexually molested and actually call it "porn" and not animal abuse.

@VA: I hate to say it but nothing is taboo any longer and believe me there is someone who finds that kind of carrying on appealing....watch...I saw a porn video years ago where a woman gave a horse a blow job. His dick was too long to penetrate her so she rubbed it between her legs until the horse ejaculated. Is there any shock value left?

In the course of an investigation into the transmission of harmful material to a minor, police earlier this month searched the phone of Ashley Miller, an 18-year-old Bradenton (Florida) residence, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

In a folder titled “2-face fun,” investigators found 17 photos of a “canine performing oral sex on an unknown white female.” In a subsequent interview with cops, Miller acknowledged she was the woman in the photos and that she was being licked by her dog “2-face.”

Miller said that the female dog, which she has owned since 2006, has “licked her vagina approximately 30 to 40 times,” police reported. Miller further explained that she “would call 2-face into her room, take her pants off, open her legs and 2-face would lick her vagina.” She added that a prior dog, named "Scarface," also licked her on a similar number of occasions.

Miller was arrested Friday and charged with two misdemeanor counts of sexual activities involving animals.

JW: how does one carry on with life after having their face splashed on the news for having dogs lick her hoo-ha?
