I have partied under lots of bridges. Does that make me a troll?

I usually fish inshore with light tackle for specks and reds. When I do go out deep, I've found that 6-8 knots is a good trolling speed, with the bait trailing the boat by about a hundred yards, and the drag set fairly light. Yes, I know a light drag sometimes doesn't set the hook very well, but it keeps your line and/or rod from snapping.

Such a problem here on FL yet the last time it was a subject in a forum here was when Bush was president. Wow.

Some food for thought then:

"There's a sort of Gresham's Law of trolls: trolls are willing to use a forum with a lot of thoughtful people in it, but thoughtful people aren't willing to use a forum with a lot of trolls in it. Which means that once trolling takes hold, it tends to become the dominant culture. That had already happened to Slashdot and Digg by the time I paid attention to comment threads there, but I watched it happen to Reddit."

Paul Graham, back in 2008, on trolls

If it happened to these tony sites, why should SLS be expected to be better?
