Like recently while doing yard work, my weedwacker just wouldn't run right. It would start and run full open on choke but not idle or run from the throttle. I put a new spark plug in it, cleaned out the carb, air filter and the exhaust system. Nothing worked. It always ran before but not really that well. Then I was at OSH looking to get a new one when I saw pre-mixed gas for string trimmers. It was 92 octane. I've always used 87. What the hell! I put it in my weedwacher. Problem solved. The thing runs like a champ. The manual doesn't say anything about what octane to use. Now I know...Hope this helps someone.

User Details are only visible to members.	Another idea, have a can of spray starter fluid. Sometimes the engine needs a boost to start.

User Details are only visible to members.	Here's another. Maybe cuz I've been doing alot of yard work lately, these things happened. This was a dumb thing on my part but it might help someone not do the same thing. I was gonna cut the front lawn. I filled the mower with gas and started out. The mower ran for only about 2 mins. then shut down. I go through the routine: spark plug, air filter, oil...everyting looks ok. I pull the cord and it starts right up...runs for about 2 mins. and shuts down again. I'm thinking its gotta be something in the fuel system. I put it up on the work bench and am about to take the carb off when I noticed the cap on the gas tank doens't look correct. What I had done when I put gas in was put the cap from the gas can on the mower. Its not vented and wasn't allowing the gas to flow to the carb. It would just dribble down. Switched the caps and all was well. DUH!!!
