Like recently while doing yard work, my weedwacker just wouldn't run right.
It would start and run full open on choke but not idle or run from the throttle. I put a new spark plug in it, cleaned out the carb, air filter and the exhaust system. Nothing worked. It always ran before but not really that well. Then I was at OSH looking to get a new one when I saw pre-mixed gas for string trimmers. It was 92 octane. I've always used 87. What the hell! I put it in my weedwacher. Problem solved. The thing runs like a champ. The manual doesn't say anything about what octane to use. Now I know...Hope this helps someone. |

Another idea, have a can of spray starter fluid. Sometimes the engine needs a boost to start.

I always use fresh High Test in all the equipment and my Harleys.
