Antifreeze- just another useless product to make those greedy businesses rich.

Reminds me of the idiots who try to jump start a car without checking to see if the battery is frozen.

While at My mechanics today I got to see first hand what happens when you put plain old water into a Radiator for 3 months, while your heater core was leaking the whole time, because the owner felt they could put it off until later.

The other customer's Volkswagen had froze so hard and violently that the motor was nearly broke in half.....

The Customer actually stated " I didn't think the water would freeze like that in there...."

I hate it when I'm not home...

Wife's car gets a little warm. So she puts water in it (good), but somehow figures it might have something to do with the transmission. So she puts fluid in an already full tranny (insert joke here).

Then calls me to say the thing won't shift...

(Heavy sigh)

5 hours to replace the water pump on my plow truck today......

Frigging Lower bolts were eroded away to nothing but rounded stubbs, after almost an hour per bolt I got the draned thing out....

The truck is gone in the spring , whether for parts of as a beater for someone else.

My only saving grace was a heatd Garage to work in.

Bearing is gone. Better get it replaced before it strands you on the side of the road.

My experience with belts squelling has been that the belt isn't tight enough. I would try to put more tension on the belt before you go further. Also if you haven't changed your belts for awhile check/replace them. Good Luck!

We have a 2004 Rav 4 S with just 32k miles. We've always used Castrol 10w30. Never had a problem! Good Luck

Need advice here - I purchased a slightly used 2012 Toyota Rav 2.5L 4cy with aprx 8K miles on it in August. It is now coming due for the oil change. The book tells me the type of Oil to use, but not the Brand. In my old Toyota I used nothing but Castrol (not synthetic) for 13 years.

Question - Is Castrol still a good brand? Is it a good thing for this type of vehicle? Is there something better? I want to start with one brand and stay with it.

Thanks in advance for all your help.....it was so easy back in the old days...
