Well it's getting late and I'm off to happy hour and then to the local Longhorn Steak House for a nice medium rare ribeye.

Have a Great Evening.

"I suppose I could tap the neighbor's red maple."

I'd rather tap my neighbor's blonde bush.

My waffle's not very big. :-)

But, they have a really big maple tree, and all their fucking leaves end up in my yard, so I suppose they OWE me some maple sap for raking their leaves up.

What a waste of wood. I have friends who make maple syrup- I trade walleyes for maple syrup.

I would make it myself, but it's kind of hard to get maple sap from spruce, pine and ash trees. I suppose I could tap the neighbor's red maple.

"I get it from a house in Burlingham NY, but the owner is pretty unreliable and has no class so I use some store bought from Vermont"

Unreliable people getting out of class early suck! You never know when he might come home and catch you!

Good - I can't find the link anymore but I saw an expose on how a company was shredding Maple wood to create a pulp when mixed with water and steam , which was then pressed and cooked down to retrieve the maple flavor.

we have several friends who make syrup , one family is 5 generations doing such. not sure what the yield is down at the shore, from all those Beach maples....

Frank, I'll be glad to ship you some, but the crawfish have been a little short so far this year. Of course, shipping would be the real cost. How many pounds do you need? You might also try Mickey; I think he was in the crawfish business at one time.

Chinese maple syrup claims to be just as good as Mexican maple syrup; at half the price of NJ maple syrup.

Sweet.
