I actually thought that a fun thing to do is to blow a police whistle into the phone, but then I figured that can probably get you into trouble.
Maybe a less-likely-to-get-you-arrested option is to ask them to hold on a minute and then put the phone down and watch tv. See how long they wait. Maybe come back every few minutes and say "hold on". Or ask them to call you at a different number and give them the "rejection hotline". |

Kat, that story reminds me of when we got a call from someone trying to sell me magazines. My name (no, it is not really "Scandle" LOL) is often pronounced differently than I do because of the spelling, and our last name confuses people sometimes. So - after talking to the magazine salesman for a while and saying that no, I really don't want to buy the magazines and donate them to the local library, I hung up. Almost immediately his boss called back, completely botching my name, and I replied that noone by that name lives here - which was true!

Those police and firefighter association fundraisers are the worst. As soon as they identify themselves I say:
"Look, experience has shown me that the only way to get rid of you is to hang up, so I am. Bye." |

We got a call yesterday from the state policeman's fundraising organization. I told them (and usually tell other fundraisers) that we give to ONE foundation because one of our kids will benefit from the great medical research they support. When the caller keeps talking, as they did yesterday, I just hang up.

omg....
Mrs. VA gave $10 to the Police Chief's fund of Virginia or something maybe 4 years ago? We have been SWAMPED ever since with every police and firefighter association. They do not take no for an answer. You have to hang up. |

Morning all!
Frank, that would be great -- more jobs for people, and closer to you is always good. Phones - we got rid of our house phone about 2 years ago. We were only getting advertisements for refinancing or contributing to the policemen's ball, lol. LOVE not hearing that thing ring. Family and friends call us on our cells. I do understand, though, Shell - the quiet of NOT having the cell with me is nice. I'm just a worrier. If I'm in a car I have to have my cell. Kat |

Good morning, how is everyone on this Thursday. Coffee for me to go, have to stop and pick up breakdast and go to an appointment at the VA Hospital. Its always a chore getting there, but never a problem once Im there. Plans are in the works to add a 3rd VA Hospital in NJ and could be real close to me.

hahaha no...my last Blackberry was destroyed at the club....I have another one but I havent had it turned on yet. I am going to get one, my daughter is all over me because she doesnt have one either now LOL. I promise, I promise, I'll have one soon lol.
