This is the one aspect of the show that I found to be most scientifically unsound. You don't have some machine that you shoot a material in that just gives you a number. It seems like they were using a GC or LC but that still gives you a "trace", not just a number, and takes some minutes to complete.

Also, a drug purity of 96% might be fine for junkies, but as pharma goes, that's *really* bad. Generally you need to be over 99%, and no unknown impurity higher than 0.1%.

The last baby I made (a pilot batch of a cancer drug for clinical trial) barely made it at 99.17%. Best I ever got was 99.98% on a migraine drug (which never went to market).

Never made meth, though ;)

Holy crap. $400K for a 30 second commercial sounds like a lot.

Also from the Huffington Post:

"The drama has been so successful that it created a small economic boom for Albuquerque, New Mexico where the show takes place, the Times reports. With tourism steadily rising in the city during the six years since the premiere, businesses have started to cater to visitors looking to get a "Breaking Bad" experience. For example, in the past year, local candy store owner Debbie Ball has sold 35,000 bags of blue rock candy that she made to resemble the blue meth Bryan Cranston's character Walter White produces on the show."

Maybe she'll be using the "new" recipe that doesn't require methylamine in her next batch of candy. I hear it's 97% pure. :-)

"bacon and eggs with the bacon forming the number "52""

I figured that out when he asked Skyler to do it on his 51st.

I don't know if I could pick out any one scene as the best, but I kinda liked the remote controlled M60 in the trunk of the Cadillac. Somewhere, in a past episode there was a scene of Walt, an M60, a car with New Hampshire plates and bacon and eggs with the bacon forming the number "52" that I couldn't quite figure out how that fit in. Now I get it.

Oh, and the bone crunching by Jesse. Damn.

I guess I liked how everyone got what they deserved. Best last episode of a series ever.

Nodded off? I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Skinny Pete and Badger with the laser pointers WAS THE BEST!

except for the 45 commercial breaks, it was nearly perfect.

I need to watch the finale again. I nodded off during a quiet part and missed about 10 minutes.

Totally awesome. I've never enjoyed a series in its entirety like that.

Dear Sopranos, Dexter, Seinfeld:

That is how you end a series,

Sincerely,

Breaking Bad
