NFL is really hurting from the kneeling for the anthem. Politics and football have really hurt the NFL. NFL is canceling their game on NYE this year...ratings and attendance have really be hurt by the entitlement crowd that now play professional football.

Sometimes I think there are to many bowls. While the scoreboards in the earlier bowl games are competitive the play is often sometimes lack luster. The real bowl season starts Friday.

Well...the cactus bowl failed to thrill as expected. A team with a notoriously crappy pass defense puts in a QB who plays like Cam Newton against a team with no discernable run defense whatsoever, whose probable number one draft pick QB is hanging out on the sidelines looking unconcerned. The second half resembled a constant stream of trains running over a herd of cattle. Yawn.

The pina colada bowl (or whatever) between Houston and Fresno State on the other was a much more entertaining matchup between two teams with different styles.

If anything should be the final word in the discussion about the dynamism of the real football verses soccer it has to be the "Butt pick". End of debate. Football wins.

Starting Thursday with three games featuring 6 top 25 teams, Friday USC v Ohio State, Saturday has Washington v Penn State and Wisconsin v Miami (all in the top 11) and of course New Year’s Day playoffs. What a slate of games.

Was that the "Armed Forces Bowl"? That Satellite channel was on the fritz due to snow.

We are definitely blessed with a great bowl season. But you need a decoder to figure out who's playing.

Sort of a bummer for UCLA and the fans that Josh Rosen decided to focus on the 2018 draft rather than his team.

Bowl season is in full swing and a game like Army v San Diego State is one of the reasons I love college football. A back and forth game throughout where every time SD scored, Army answered to tie. And with 19 seconds on the clock, Army went for 2 rather than kick the extra point and converted for the win.

An “interception” of a lateral returned for a TD accounted for the 42-35 final.

I hate Pittsburgh but in any other scenario, breaking the plane of the end zone constitutes a touchdown. How many times have we seen a ball come loose afterwards but as long as it broke the plane, the TD stood?

That rule will be rewritten to be even more convoluted thisnoff season.

And speaking of shockers, the shocking reversal of Pittsburgh's game winning TD was "explained" by the league on twitter, apparently because the feel shit calls need more attention. The spokesman noted that the "catch" didn't survive contact with the ground in the end zone. Despite the particularly interesting choice of words, there was no explanation about why they didn't notice that his knee was down and he then broke the plane of the end zone in possession without being down by contact.

So I guess a spike can now be considered a fumble?

LOL.

I think he's okay if he can do sort of an inverted thing. Just gotta flip 'er upside down. That's all. And let's face it, the true "keepers" got no problem getting flipped. 8^[)
