Thanks Shibby, and I'd like to see you in that pink towel... or without the pink towel. 8^O

Vegas was great, we danced for three days and got several first and second place recognition awards. It's not really a big deal because we only competed in an intermediate (bronze) level and in our age group (we also entered one age group younger too). Watching the silver and gold level dancers, and the professional competition and exhibitions was both a learning experience and made us feel that our dancing sucks... but we're having fun and that's all that matters.

We stayed a few days to see some shows and play golf. We're busy catching up and preparing to get back to work. We'll add some pictures when we get some time. One thing I find humorous is that I brought six pairs of shoes on an eight day trip... I never thought that a straight man could bring six pairs of shoes on a short vacation!

Shibby, I'm glad you like the Leeza Cope character. It's getting tougher to find new material... so I went down to the Strip District (a Pittsburgh marketplace) and I was asking people what they thought was going to happen in the game. The "Flacco bedder 'chowt fer Polamolu" was a direct quote from a woman I talked to in line at Wholly's fish market!

Hope all is well, just read your profile and understand the need to pull back.

Sned me the bird when you are up to it...and we still need to make that vid!

AFT, they do it by holding opponents to an average of 6 points per game, while scoring an average of 5 touchdowns themselves. Bama would wax Okie State, Boise, and probably the Sooners too in a head to head game.

Agree that the kicking game decided last night's game though.

Akron, that is exactly what I was wondering as I watched them miss several FGs. Cost them the game. Team so strong, with a weak link at kicker, makes no sense. Speaking of kickers, that freakin aussie punter for LSU is good, what a weapon!

Yes Frank, you have asked this question of me a dozen times, I did in fact serve in the military. You're welcome.

Atown, I suppose we can go round and round about semantics (PURE profit is indicative of zero expenses. If you sell your car and owe nothing on it, that is pure profit. A university gets $10M to go to a bowl game, they don't keep $10M)

In your example of the fab 5, UM had a brief windfall during their playing days but there was a lot of fallout from the numerous violations that cost the University a LOT of money while the players each went on the earn millions.

My point at the beginning of this conversation was that the players move on each year while the University has to continue to recruit, feed, house, teach, train, coach and nurture a new student to replace him year after year after year. If a free education isn't reward enough, don't go! Pay your own way and play intramural sports.

I posted somewhere that those two defenses were so good that final score might turn out to be 4-2. Lol. Not too far off.

Caesar, I think that stupid NCAA rule abolishing athletic dorms took effect in the late 80's or early 90's; by that time some schools really did have some super-plush digs for the teams, which was the reason for the rule.

Nic--Not angry at all. I am passionate about what I believe. This is how I write, one of the reasons I limit what I write because people always assume I'm angry. I'm direct and to the point in a long winded kind of way.

And by the way, you missed the point. I said nothing about the college of your choice. You working and them dictating your life. I get that athletes take the opportunity to play their given sport. They are deserving of more then just a free education.
