Hey, I resemble that remark! Can't say I am a huge fan of mascots but as far as annoying stadium noise goes, the Nittany Lion growl after every freakin play ranks right up there the the Florida chomp and FSU chant. Lol

Fun, I have not been to an MSU game but am a big College Football fan and have watched a good number of their games on TV...it is annoying as hell. Stupid mascots annoy me too, like a nut. who the hell has a nut for a mascot?? lol.

Oh and to answer your question, this represents how many weeks TOTAL a school was ranked #1, not just to start or end a season. A school that is voted #1 to start a season and never loses (or is passed in the rankings) could theoretically earn about 20 #1 rankings in a single season.

No doubt ND is typically over rated these days but remember, the AP poll goes back to the thirties when the Irish actually WERE a national power. Think about their championship years in the 40s, 60s and 70s. And no smart-asses, I wasn't around during the Rockne or Leahy days! lol
