Bron must have found a time machine that took him back to 2009 mode last night. 2 terrible turnovers in the final minute.
Still, another entertaining game that went down to the wire. T |

Yup. Pop is the best coach in NBA history, imo. Great x's and o's guy, great at managing the game (and the season), great at getting players to buy into his system and great at getting guys who actually fit his system.

Memphis was just above average age in the NBA, 27.0 yrs on avg, for players on the court.
Spurs were 7th oldest, at 28.6 But Pop is the master at spreading the minutes. He doesn't wear his guys out during the season, even if it means losing a couple more games. Kawhi Leonard (age 21) leads SA in minutes. Danny Green (25) is 4th. And they go about 11 deep -- a good backup at every position. Memphis is deep, but not so much. Talent falls sharply after 7th or 8th man. Consider that in game 1, both Duncan and Ginobili were off, and the Spurs still won by 20-some. |

"I don't know cplofunswingers. The Spurs had to fight like hell at home in OT just to avoid losing home court. This one is still up for grabs."
I'm not writing Memphis off yet, but through the 1st two games, Memphis has looked out of their league. Sure, game 2 went to OT, and then the Spurs dominated them. Spurs are an older team that got a very short break after the 2nd round (in which they also played 2 OT games). Memphis *should* be wearing them out because they are a significantly younger and more physical team. And I want 6 more games just like game 1 of the Heat/Pacers series. Holy shit, that was fun to watch. T |

Not that I agree with him Often but Rdy2 does have a point, after this week nothing really matters until the first week of August.....

Memphis is looking exactly like a team that's never been there before. Thought they were ready to take the next step. Maybe not.
